Hello I am Daniel,it’s my first time here
I am an affected others, I discovered my wife was gambling in Apr 25 while deployed overseas. Happening right under my nose, didnt notice because I never really took interest in the financial side of our family so it was well hidden. It definitely rocked our 23 year marriage.
Long story short, fast forward 11 months and she is 11 months gamble free, recovering lots of support courses and online.sessions, now waiting on training to be a peer support. Our relationship is stronger than ever.
There isnt much out there for male affected others and I would like to support people as an affected other and provide lived experience on how best to help.
Suppoer keen to support, I have reached out to the AFGSN, but there is a delay on peer aid training. I'd love to set up an online meeting and try to grow a comunity for other males in a similar situation.Â
