Hi all,

Im hoping someone can point me in the right direction where to go with this.. i think it would be a great idea if betting shops made it mandatory that every customer wanting to place a bet has a membership card, this would make it less accessible for compulsive gamblers. Using similar software that gamstop uses to prevent people from making online accounts, this shop membership would be blocked for anyone who has registered with moses removed link

I hope i have explained this properly, if anyone has any other ideas or suggestions please let me know.

I’m pretty sure this has been thought of before and i’m just wondering if anyone on here would know how we could take it further .

thanks.

I'm fairly certain something similar already exists the traditional bookies have taken an absolute hammering over the last decade from gov regulation

KYC checks are common now if your in a bookies blowing thousands a week chances are the manager is going to either ban you or have a word very quickly

They will never introduce a widespread "register to gamble" scheme because It will deter casual punters who are coming in to chuck 10 quid on a football accumulator

Hi cal it wouldn't make a blind bit of a difference gambling addicts would just go to a different slum  bookies shop.. it sounds sadly as if you are still in the gambling frenzy state of mind looking for a way to still bet but not be found out.the one and only way to defeat this is by admitting the bookie won and putting every single block in place from the moses scheme gamban blocks on your bank card for gambling sites and off course sheer willpower and determination on your own part don't be a victim of these leeches gambling companies invest in your future and have a happy life free from the misery and shackles of debt and mental health issues I wish you well on your personal journey

I have said this a few times I really don't know how to take this further but it's a great idea it is active in other countrys maybe start a campaign and see how it goes first make a face book page or something and see if you get much interest in it then go from there but I would help you and would love for this to happen

@g3y6a5jbds thanks for replying and presuming that i’m still in a gambling state of mind, i’m actually 9 months gamble free 🙌🏻.

I think it would make a massive difference, if a gambling addict has all the stops in place and the only way to place a bet in a shop is with an ID/membership card but your card is blocked like it does online, then it makes it pretty hard to place that bet.

Im only reaching out with an idea to help  people from going through what i have over the last 15 years.
