Hi all and thanks for reading,

I am on the other side, a compulsive gambler and have recently relapsed.

This has essentially broken a lot of trust and I'd like to hear from friends and families of problem gamblers about how they best rebuilt this bridge? I feel like because it's fairly recent my promises just feel empty... Very much 'I've heard it all before'... I'm back in meetings, back in therapy and looking at self help books to almost show how committed I am to recovery but anything else or words I could use would be great.

Thankyou

Unfortunately words mean very little to.nothing taking action is the only way forward by signing up to gamban the moses scheme blocks on your bank cards and raw determination to stop and getting help through gamcare and gamblers anonymous

You can only prove yourself through action unfortunately and it will take time.

The best thing to do with close friends/family is be completely open. Do not hide anything. Tell them everything. Thats the only way to start building the trust.

With your family/partner be transparent and structure your finances. Budget everything but make sure you allow some positive spending e.g. meeting friends, gym, hobbys and a nice few beers. Any extra disposable, give to your partner. It shows your dedicated by handing over control and full visibility.
