Just a short topic to cover of a podcast we (me and my wife) did for Breakeven.
OUT NOW on YouTube, Spotify and apple, and on Breakeven facebook.
We share our honest journey through the impact of gambling on our relationship, and how we found the strength to seek support together.
My wife speaks openly about her experience, while i reflect on how it affected us both — offering a powerful insight into the realities couples can face.
What makes this conversation so special is the outcome. Through reaching out for help, we've rebuilt our relationship and come back stronger than ever.
Hist comments "This episode was truly a breath of fresh air to film — a reminder that recovery is possible, and positive change can happen. Louise and Craig also share their gratitude for the support they received from Breakeven along the way"
Please have a listen, and hopefully it provides an insight in to what can be achievedÂ
Hi Craig
I've got the Breakeven app so was waiting for your episode to come up but thank you for posting on here as Ive watched it on YouTube this morningÂ
.What a great podcast full of honesty and most of all hope. I don't think I've ever seen a couple being interviewed so it might be a first, well first for me. It was extremely brave to do that and your love shone through.
I would like to say three lots of congratulations
Firstly, a massive well done to you for the support you have given your wife and helping her to get through this
Secondly, a huge well done to your wife and please do show her this message. She will be one year gamble free soon and I hope the two of you can celebrate over a candle lit dinner
Thirdly, another massive well done for you both as a couple. It's one thing recovering yourself, it's another that your wife has put in the work to recover but it's even more important that you have done it together as a couple and are still a couple today. That's huge and I really admire both of you for giving hope to others in recovery. I know from first hand experience that it's not all roses that's for sure and the moment things start to get better I get smashed to rock bottom and the same for my partner.
With the gender gap in problem gambling, unfortunately evening out, I really hope you can help in peer support for affected other men, like you talked about. As we know, gambling thrives in isolation so any help you can do with the armed forces will be amazing as well.
You are such a strong character which came across on the podcast, the same as your wife and I look forward to seeing you both on a podcast together in your 80s lol.Â
Stuart,
Thank you for you kind words.
