Hi everyone,

I’m Ciarán, Lived Experience & Participation Manager at GamCare. I wanted to share something you all today.

We have just relaunched our Lived Experience Volunteering programme and our new webpage is live here.

The new programme is a way for people with lived experience, whether personally or as an Affected Other, to volunteer in helping to shape GamCare’s work. That can mean influencing how services are designed, reviewing content or resources, raising awareness or supporting conversations within your own communities.

There are a few different roles, meaning more chances to volunteer in various ways:

  • Community Champion - Help raise awareness and reduce stigma within your own community.
  • Research Volunteer – Be part of opportunities to contribute to research in the gambling harm sector.
  • Lived Experience Voice Volunteer - Help raise awareness by sharing your story in public facing settings.
  • Insights Volunteer - Collaboratively shape and improve services with us.

All roles come with a full induction, training and ongoing support in the roles.

If you’d like to find out more, have a look at the page linked above, it has more information including how to express your interest. If you ‘ve got any questions, you can contact me via LE@gamcare.org.uk.

Thanks for everything this community does for each other.
