Started in 2016 for 5 months then stopped then returned to doing it again in 2024 for 8 months then cooled it which then i went in to Gamstop for 5 yearsÂ
Unfortunately due to a family member health issues last year i went in to temptation to these non gamstop sites and done it for a 3rd time
I'm not proud of doing what i've done but speaking to the helpline for help this evening and getting these blockers on both computer and phone has given me some hope that now i can go on and beat the addiction for good

For me it's like having a voice in my head saying things like just have one more bet or you can control it now. I'm coming up for two months gf next Monday after 44 years of gambling. I recognise the voice or thoughts in my head are the addiction talking, the worst version of me and it tries to get me back into action. These thoughts and urges pass in a short period of time so I just do something like walking etc until they have gone. Another way to look at it would be to say, I won't have a bet now when the urges come on but will later. When later comes the urges have gone so you don't need to relapse. You have periods of gf behind you and you know each time you go back it gets worse. Can you remember how you feel when you don't gamble and focus on being a better person ? None of us can do this on our own which is why GA and the chatrooms help on here. Have you reached out for counselling ? I'm always on the chatrooms and happy to chat if it helpsÂ

Hi Marc and well done.  The important thing is that you don’t give up trying.  This shows strength and determination to have a better life that is free from gambling.
Blocks are the best thing so put every block in place you can. Â I too resorted to those dodgy gambling sites but now I have Gamban on my devices this has put an immediate stop on this 👌💪.
Take each day as it comes and remember each g.f day is a bonus!
