A week of mayhem

I've chosen to seek help as I have just suffered a week (weak?) of mayhem that has seen me lose all my savings as well as my sanity due to the insane belief that I could profit from gambling. Just like many before me, I genuinely thought that I knew ways and methods to play Fobots, but the real killer has been on line roulette which has seen me gamble at virtually any hour of the day. I've just finished a seven day bender. I don't know if I've hit rock bottom yet, I hope I have. I'm out of available funds so that's one consolation. I know that lonliness is a major factor for me, and I have a huge gap in my life that is empty and has been filled with gambling for the past 35 years. I'm aware of my inability to control my desire to gamble but now I want to make the first step in removing the desire from my life.

Hello just wanted to provide a response to give some support. How horrible for you a week long binge; My heart goes out to you. I also have binges, as I am prone to chasing my losses, though I think my longest was going to casino three -four days in a row (trying to recoup losses as saw no. Other way to fix the losses I had occurred in each previous day .)and of course it just keeps getting worse and worse and you feel worse each day and lose more n more. I know the gut wrenching feeling and how the the tricks of your mind keep telling you to chase the losses anyway it's probably the craziest part of gambling and in the past has made me want to kill myself after days of chasing and just making the situation worse and worse. So I do understand.

Thank you Jenilee. I find the evenings the most difficult. If there is a spare hour my mind starts thinking about having an hour playing the online casino 'cartoon' roulettes which I know are programmed to let you win and then take your money using a sip by sip reduction in your funds until you have nothing left in the bank. My last win was significant but this has only accelerated the stakes I have recently been placing. I know it's time to quit.
