CW. my free tenners are a result of MY compulsion to gamble as I gave MY details in to the shop, hence they text my number. Correct, that is nothing to boast about. I am however getting money back from the bookmakers of which I have NO intent of giving back.I used todays text £10 to buy 4 pillows for my kids. Would you knock that back when you have give £1000s of money to these evil leeches all your life? I have no compulsion to gamble now.... For the first time ever my kids come before my gambling. When no text arrives, I wont go in. simple. As I say, read the book. FREE AT LAST!

The tenners come from the profits made at the expense of all CGs, including you.

Suggest that you stop the texts and earn a living in the conventional way, preferably before you give in to the urge to gamble your family's money again but clearly you know best.

What will happen when the texts stop - as they inevitably will? What happens when you don't have that thing to feed your addiction and your excuse to visit betting shops? You will never stop when your brain is in gambling mode.

good point delorean. my mrs is right behind me and she actually went in today and got the £10 which she bought some pillows. I was too busy in work to do and in her words" she isnt gonna look a gift horse in the mouth" and shes the one who is pleased for the free cash and VERY proud of my new attitude. so i've said i will text her the code and she can do it. i actually felt "not a home" yesterday. a great feeling. CW. I sympathise with what been through, however I must comment I have never gambled over my means and my family has never done without. I earn over the average wage/ company car and have never been out of work for 25 years. I am doing this to ensure my pension pot is nice and full for early retirement. the money set aside for gambling is now topping up the pension... As I say, everyone is different and I have never kept my gambling from my wife. In fact the only internet account I have used over the past 8 years have been in her name so she appreciates my honesty....it just doesnt interest me at all anymore and I would just like to retire early thats all. good luck to you.

You say your being a mouth piece for a book. If reading that book makes me sound and come out with some of the tripe i'm hearing from your mouth, its a sale i'll keep in my pocket.

I'm sure your a nice person but seriously promoting gambling to people who are trying to stop. Sure you'll keep doing what your doing.

We were also on a good wage but the gambling meant that we lost the opportunity to move to a bigger house -we're squashed- and for the kids to have had a private garden. It's one thing to be happy with what you have but quite another to realise that the whole family has been limited by a gambler's compulsion. Don't be too proud of yourself

day@atime wrote: Its truely amazing the justifications the addicted mind will come up with to continue to have a punt. Posts of betting stratagies really dont have a place on this forum. As Tri said you are being a wonderful mouthpiece for the industry. I can just imagine a few poor souls who read your initial post seizing upon that as an excuse to get back to the bookies for some free cash. Likelyhood is there still in there feeding their childrens dinner money into the machines. Way to go fella

Thought i would post an update well over a year later, as i remembered today, some comments weren't too favourable and that really inspired me even more to be a winner. Haven't gambled now since my original post. Never been happier. Still get a text most days with a code, which after a month i got bored of going in a bookies as full of lost unhappy souls and I was too busy spending time with family, working and getting back into hobbies, etc.

sociallly i have never been more happy and having so much fun!

I now forward it to a mate who doesnt bet but uses it when he can, takes any winning and walks straight out. today after a year he gave me half the money, which i have paid for htis laptop with this morning!!!

i ahve also helped 2 more friends to knock it on the head and they too are different people. happier .

It can be done. just saying. good luck all.

I
