I don,t know where to begin. But I guess the start is a good place. Coming clean if I,m totally honest my current situation is desperate. I am in so much debt right now and I keep chasing the money back only to make my situation worse. I have cleared out our bank account and my partner doesn't even know about it. We have two kids and it's been a long time since I,ve felt normal. As I type this I think what a selfish horrible person I have become but I can't explain it at all. What makes me gamble online the rush enough is never enough. It's so serious right now but I think mentally I don't realise it. I need help desperately. I love my family and I pray that somehow they will be protected from my actions but I know deep down that it's all going to come crashing down on me as soon as my partner realises what I have done. He keeps saying let's book a holiday but I know our account is empty so we can't afford it. I feel so terrible. I pray all the time for a miracle that miracle being that I will be able to put this horrible situation right. Will that ever happen?

Hi Ready4help73

I am a recovering CG.

We all chased losses. That is why most CG's are skint and very much in debt when they eventually seek help. ( me included ). You're among friends here. We have all done the same or similar things in our gambling careers, so don't feel that you are alone.

You are going to have to tell your partner. He will find out eventually, nothing is going to change that fact. He will be naturally angry, dissapointed, hurt etc. I can't tell you what he will do, I just don't know.

Counselling and GA can help you if you want to stop. Free software is available to block your access to online gambling sites. You will find info on this under the GET ADVICE...WHAT CAN YOU DO headings at the top of this forum.

You have to face this problem. Put barriers in place to help to prevent your gambling when an urge strikes. Treat it with respect, get the support that you will need to help you overcome your addiction now, and you will have a chance at a very good gamble-free life.

Only you can make you stop gambling, nobody else can. You have to want it.

Best wishes

All good advice. I've learnt miracles tend to happen when I work at them. Hope you get there.
