Hello spraggy2014,

Some of our Forum Users have mentioned installing GamBlock on their android mobiles. Another approach mentioned has been to use parental controls; you can read some more about those methods here:

Take care,

Adam.

Have found parental controls to be very affective in blocking gambling sites on my laptop, would recommend.

This might sound silly and i'm not suggesting throwing silly money at this but could you swap your nokia phone for cheap second hand iphone? Say from cash convertors or something or check ebay out.

You can put parental blocks on iphone. Some else would set a passcode for you and the restriction so even in the most tempted moments its impossible and if you make 3 wrong attempts it locks your phone.

Also if your tempted to log in via your mobile internet call EE they can put content lock on your phone this can only be unlocked with a credit card.

Hope that helps.

Sazzy xx

More temptations on the internet phones, if that's your poison then you might be better off with a basic call and text version?

Hi, Spraggy,

I've suggested this elsewhere but I have excluded my husband from his online sites by writing a snail mail letter that he signed to each head office, explaining that he's a gambler in recovery, that he wants to permanently self exclude from any website that they operate and that apart from confirming the exclusion and refunding any unused deposit they should not contact him again in any way for any purpose. To help them identify him, I put down his name, postal and email addresses, date of birth, account number and if possible, his passwords. Once the letter is posted, the barrier should be difficult to overcome for that site. Finding the address on the website for bet-on-anything-you-like-cards-sports-slots-financials-you-name-it-we-bet-on-it-dot-com took me a solid fifteen minutes but they do have a postal address, their desks can be found in one of the main towns in Hertfordshire.

Presumably you get marketing emails and texts from some of these sites, even if you don't have an account? Again, I got him to sign similar letters and sent them off to any betting organisation that I found had contacted him.

Actually even he knew not to get an Internet phone, he never had one even whilst he was active.

Hope this helps,

CW
