Thanks michelle67! Day 5 for me and I am more positive than ever. I managed to secure a promotion at work and this resulted in an increase in my salary of around 25%. Even more determined than ever to make sure the bookies see none of this!

Amazing how when we get our heads straight how quickly things can turn round. Well done and be strong.

Keep going thecat90 and good luck. The FOBTs are my downfall too...imagine they are your worst enemy laughing at you every time, this helped me. As above, treat yourself to something...see the benefits as you deserve it.

Day 7! Woohoo! I'm keeping much busier than usual and i think that's definitely helping. Boredom seems to make me want to gamble 🙁 Must keep strong and keep fighting.

Congratulations on your 1st week cat 🙂

Have a Plan B ready for when you find yourself starting to bore! The addiction will not give you up without a fight so having something to do second by second if you have to will help you fight off the urges if they strike!

You are doing brilliantly! Stay strong - ODAAT

ODAAT, thank you! Your posts are keeping me strong. I'm sitting watching the football and not even remotely interested in betting! Ray Winstone not doing it for me... Lol. Thanks again 🙂 here's to another week!

Main thing is to accept you've lasped and put it straight behind you, while remembering it's extremely important to keep the guard up.

Gambling urges can and will happen at any time, whether you are outdoors or in.

At first, it's extremely important to try not to go it alone, everyone needs support. So definitely spend any time you feel like a gamble, posting here instead and just think about having to post here to say you've lapsed and how that makes you feel.

So, tomorrow is payday and I'm scared I won't be able to keep myself from gambling this weekend.

I haven't done any sort of online betting (my main downfall) for 4 weeks but I have had the odd flutter on the lottery and the odd scratch card but Ive been fairly strong apart from that.

Any advice / support would be appreciated.
