I have been gambling for the last 6 years on and off and had my third relapse over the past year and a half. I have stolen money off my partner and Mum and now I owe a total of 40k and don't know where to start. My partner and Mum are aware of this and are trying to stand by me and get this resolved without going to the police. This is my first day to recovery and I am going to attend a GA meeting next week. My partner is broken and is head is telling him to leave me but his heart is telling him to stay. Is this something we can work out?
I now have to tell people within my family so they are aware of my situation. Friends don't agree what I have done but are willing to help.
Hi Casper79 get your partner and mum to attend a gamanon meeting while you are at GA if there is one. They need help and advice on how to support you and safeguard themselves. Good luck!

Its good to hear your heading to GA, make the 12 step recovery program a part of your life and you can turn yourself around. People looking in dont really understand gambling as an addiction so this is why GA is a great place to get the support you need. If you truly commit yourself to recovery you can tunr your life around, its not easy but it can be done.

Thanks. I am attending my first GA meeting tomorrow night and my partner is coming with me.
Emotions are up and down between us and still a lot to set out in regards to the debt.
I am determined to fight it this time and let it be my last!
