Hi, just registered and joined tonight.

Put myself on a 72 hour cool down period from Sky Bet last night, as I dropped a bit of money chasing after a feature drop.

I like putting a bet on football, nothing extravagant, a bit here and there over a weekend, usually do not too bad, and disciplined enough to withdraw when i hit ... quid or so winnings.

However, I've became addicted to the Sky Vegas slots section recently, especially when able to play on my laptop.

Over the last few weeks, I've been up and down profit and loss wise, with some wild swings, into the hundreds of pounds difference.

30 years ago, as a newly qualified electrician, I used to gamble my weekly wages in the arcades, usually heading home skint until the next payday. I managed to self detach from this process,no idea how, maybe realisation hit,I'm not too sure.

Just worried that I have the bug again, to go chasing after often promised and rarely delivered fortunes.

I'm not expecting any replies, just writing this down has been kind of cathartic 🙂

I wish you all well.

I don't think the words "disciplined and gambling" should be in the same sentence but I know plenty that have tried and failed to do so

The gambling operators actually want you to believe your in control as then your not as likely to do something as terrible for them as completely going cold turkey

Users going cold turkey is the only thing that keeps casino operators awake at night they hate it .

Yeah, wasn't sure how best to phrase the situation.

I find it hard to fathom why i am happy to cash out lower sums, yet will let bigger sums than that ride on the slots.

Thanks for the reply anyway, it's appreciated.

Hey,  I started off with small amounts here and there and then increased to higher bets, so I know where you're coming from.  I keep telling myself I can restrict myself, but I really can't, if I have money in my account I try to double it, and inevitably lose the lot!  Only one winner in betting, hence me being on here. Kayemsee73 I wish you well on the first road to recovery, you are in the right place to do so

Hi mate, hardest thing is accepting you have a problem.

two way you can do this block the sites or put a limit on your account so you can only gamble say £50 a month.
