Here I am having relapsed this afternoon. Withdrew £450 from my bank and went into the bookies and placed it on the roulette.

I didn't even enjpy the experience, I sat there miserable.

Before today I managed 65 days gamble free and i'm determined to do that and more from this point on.

I can't afford to carry this on as i'm on the verge of losing my family.

Luckily i have no gambling debts. The £450 was money i had saved up over the past 2 months by not gambling.

My heart feels truly broken tonight. But I have come back from worse and will do so again.

Thanks for reading. Stay strong.

I'm new to this site so just learning. It seems, however, that relapse is very common. I know it must feel very painful but just tell yourself you've quit before and can do it again. Good luck

Hi, been there recently too mate, the experience isn't pleasurable, as you deep down already know how it's going to go.

Can you set yourself a goal of something that you could put the cash towards? Even if not for you, for someone close to you,and letting them know your plan? This may make the prospect of taking out all future savings less palatable,as you would be breaking that promise.

I tried this once, and it worked wonders, it felt really good having someone depend on me/look forward to receiving a gift.

Best Wishes in your journey

I thought laws had been enacted on these machines to stop these kinds of amounts being lost

I'm sure last I read they were capped off at something like £1 a spin and if you wanted to lose more than £200  in a day you had to get a shop manager to sign off on it
