I'm a 27 year old female with a good job, lovely partner and most importantly a beautiful six month old baby...so why am I risking ruining it all?

I have played bingo for nearly 10 years, this has never been a huge concern as I played within my means and enjoyed going with family. This changed when I started playing on the bandits/slots...

After a few good wins, gold pots, jackpots etc.. I was hooked! This has now spiralled into a horrible habit. To the point I'm tearing up and hiding bank statements, telling lie upon lie and even sneaking to the bookies to have a go on the machine. This has gone from now and then to everyday. I have just Cancelled my online account after Another spending and loosing frenzy.

I'm on maternity leave at the moment so money is tighter than ever.

I'm not sure why it's happened boredom, thrill of the chase but
I love my son more than anything and this is not the person I want to be or the mother I want to be..

Hi, when most people post on here for their first time - they are in need of a response - so here goes. At 27 you can nip this in the bud now, if you don't it may well hang around you for many years. Small losses will become dramatic ones (i know). I guess like a lot of the human race you have become a bit bored with your life. Don't let gambling fill that void, it will only financially destroy you. Find other thrills, motherhood, exercise, sport, reading, helping others - i know it wil destroy you if you let it. Good luck.

Thankyou,I appreciate your response. I'm so upset about what could happen if I continue.

My grandfather has had hell because of my uncles gambling, and the thought of my family especially my dad been in the position of picking up the pieces of my horrible habit make me feel sick to the core. I've seen first hand the results of hard core gambling and the path of destruction and yet I still do it? Worrying something with silly flashing lights and games cab control you x

They can control you but they are designed to - although ultimately you also hand control over to them too. You've had a taste of how horrible life is for a gambler, so maybe it is time to move on from it all. You've got so many positives but gambling will put them all in jeopardy. This forum is full of middle aged people wishing they had stopped years ago. You are luckily in the position they would love to be in. Take the opportunity please.
