Hi
I signed up to gamstop back in august 2018 for 5 years after admitting to myself i was a compulsive gambler.
Today after a moment of weakness i was able to login to a certain casino which i have checked is part of gamstop. I was able to login and play for over an hour and lost around £1000. All my details on my account with them match my details on gamstop.
I then contacted chat and told them what had happened after i lost all my money i had in my account.
I have sent them an email and spoke to them on chat and forwarded my gamstop "certificate of ban"
I asked for all my deposits to be returned back to me.
They said managment will get back to me regarding this.
What are my chances of getting my deposits refunded back to me?
Has this happened to anyone else?
Cheers
xopx
I’m sure everyone has been in this situation , I certainly have numerous times . One of the realisations I had to come to in order to help me was that you should be in the position of needing to ask for it back as you will no doubt spend it at another casino that you are able to open an account with , you only googled if it was part of Gamstop after you lost the money , what would you do if you had won?? You need to forget about the money and think about how to help yourself get rid of this awful illness! There is loads of great advice on here and it might help having a read through it , we’ve all been in this position I’m sure , all the best
What would the casino have done if you had won and then made a withdrawal ? They would then have carried out verification checks, a sure thing for a four figure amount even three figures, & cancelled any winnings and maybe returned just your deposit to you. On that basis, you could ask for a refund otherwise they are having their cake & eating it. If they refuse to refund you, it may be worth firstly threatening them with the Gambling Commission who have the power to levy large fines to operators who allow excluded customers to gamble (and they have done so, google it). If this doesn't work, file a chargeback to the issuing bank of the card you used, you can also do this with debit cards / paypal etc, on the basis that a condition of the operator's UK gambling Licence is that the Licence holder must refuse to allow excluded customers to play, and they broke this condition in allowing you to do so.
Affected by gambling?
