Hey I'm 2 days in , I'm addicted to on line slots, I've pawned jewellery and took out pay day loans until the point I can't pay them back , I know I have big issues so I need to stop, I will not tell my family or friends, this is my issue not theirs

Hi Lost and well done on 2 days. I'm also quite new, so I'm not that qualified to offer advice, but you seem to be in a bit of a spot. Please consider confiding in someone close to you, a partner, friend or family member. You say you have loans you can't pay back and pawned jewellery, . You have to stop gambling now. You don't specify how you are gambling, but however it is, you have to put in blocks, self exclude from bookies, casino's and on-line, if that's been your bag. Please consider telling someone close to you, they will be integral to your recovery, I'm sure. Keep posting. Good luck. Xx

Sorry, I see you did say online slots..... The blocks will help, if you put them in place. X

HI lost,

welcome, i only just registered to this forum myself on the back of reading posts here for a while. Currently 32 days GF after i lost all my bill money for a 2nd time in 3 months sports betting (coupled with a 10k debt).

I would strongly advise telling people you have a problem, trust me you'll need their support. It's massive if you are as serious as all us CG should be about stopping this. Yes i have tried, more than once to beat this alone, personally i couldn't.

My close family now know every penny and hour gambling has taken from me and knowing they know what im dealing with right now means i can focus all my efforts on beating this and not worry about who might find out about what. Yes it is my problem but if my family needed me i would be there for them too. My debt has been addressed for the first time ever and although these first few months will be tough for me i know that not gambling from now on will ultimately be the single greatest money saver i can do for myself going forwards.

Also as velvet said block your access as much as you can, if you can tell someone close to you you can work out a budget, withdrawl that per paycheck and they can hold on to bank + credit cards. Self exclude from EVERY site you have access to, get blocking software if you gamble online. Seek help, look out for GA meetings near you, counselling (face to face and via the telephone), talk about it, you are not alone do not be ashamed to seek the help you need!

It's not an easy road but the help is there for us. Keep coming back here and reading/updating, it really does help.

Good luck, you can do this!
