Hello, just joined the site as I realised that I was losing control a bit,
I've always gambled, from my dad putting my Yankees on for me through to yesterday (hoping that was it) mostly horses, but at my worst it was anything, all sports, blackjack and roulette,
When I won I didn't feel great, when I lost I hated myself and chased, never learning a lesson,
A few years ago I stopped, back then I thought it was for good, but recently I lapsed and opened two accounts, I've been winning, a relatively decent amount for me, but I've been worried that I wasn't fully in control of my gambling,
I checked my deposits and withdrawals and was truly shocked at my level of spending, and although I was up by £750, there was no enjoyment, the buzz was short lived and the guilt was long lasting,
So last night I self excluded, I know that is only the beginning, but at least it is a start, today is day one, and one day at a time is the way it's going to be, all the best to you all.
Best wishes - my first day on here too ...it seems that were not alone !
Certainly not alone that's for sure, all the best to you too
yous both have taken the right step to stop being cg.
This site and other avenues will help you on your new journey.
Hope it works out for both of yous because I was in the very same place a few weeks back but with the help of people on here have started to turn my life around. Yes the journey has also just begun for me to but we can turn the days into weeks and then hopefully years and finally for good.
Mr gamble has had enough of my money and wellbeing he ain't getting any more.
Regards jeff
Thank you jeff
Thanks Jeff, you're right, a day might not sound much, but if we can turn them into weeks they'll soon mount up, gambling has had too much of my life
if you can get to a ga meeting it could do you some good to talk face to face. I found it a big help
Affected by gambling?
