hi my names is john and iam a problem gambler just lost 100 pound today this s### is really geting to me i tried to quit it before for 6 months didnt work i banned myself from bookies but after my ban run out i went in there like a mug i dont no why i keep going in there i hate roulltte but the machines in bookies are drawing me in because iam loosing so iam chaising my losses really need to stop because i no my girl is fed up and my realtionship is on the rocks because of it and its driving me up the wall i get my pay and use most off my money on it really need help before i do something stupid.

You say your ban did not work however you quit for 6 months while banned. Perhaps going back to the bookies and self-excluding again will help you stop for another 6 months you can also self-exclude for a year which may help you better long term.
Chaising is a very familiar scenario in a gamblers cycle and one which encourages the compulssion. The reality is that the 'odds' of winning loses back are against you and even if you won that £100 back this morning the chances are you will bet it again. Forget that £100 and focus on the positives. You managed to give up for 6 months, great achievement. You managed to self-exclude before, this takes courage and indicates that you realised you can't stop on your own and did something to help yourself. You have written a post that means you identify you still have a problem and are asking for help this is the first step to tackling those demons and further indicates your desire to do something about it.
Read the expieriences and threads on this site and follow practical advise. John you know you can do this you have before. It may be worth a chat with a gamcare advisor as they could advise you of other help availible. Above all get down to the bookies this morning and self-exclude before that £100 becomes £200 and the rest!

Hi John, I echo everything that Zulu said. Ive banned myself a number of times and then returned once the ban expired. Im currentyly self excluded until Feb next year. This time im going to return and extend my ban for 5 years (rather than 1).Before i never had this site for support. Hope you make the right choices for yourself and your gf. Mark
