Hi joined the site a week back when I confessed to my mum and dad about my addiction and obviously bank details were exchanged and they helped me out thinking id stop and so did I but I just can't seem to come away, I've put as many barricades as possible to prevent me from online gambling but still manage to find away when I want to bet, I don't know what comes over me and have lost thousands due to this, I'm young and have my life ahead of me and just need to get this silly habit out my system but I'm really struggling. I feel like I can always beat the bookie and that I just need one big win however I am severely wrong. Today will be the last day I gambled I am determined.

Sorry for posting its good to get it out the system.

Hi Toodumb to young, this is the perfect place to have come for help 🙂 You never need to apologise for posting on here 🙂

You are quite wrong about beating the bookies though because every day you don't gamble is a win!

You mention barricades (& yes, you need to break the Time-Money-Location triangle) but you haven't mentioned a blocker...I am led to believe (my damage was not done online but I have read a lot of posts) that you can instal a blocker! K9 is a free one but you may need someone to put in the password! Your parents bailing you out has thrown you a lifeline & although it may not feel it at the moment, you can overcome this!

Get on here & read everything you can then see what works for you, don't wait a day longer because it never gets any easier & you're are right in not wanting to throw your life away! It really is much better without gambling!

Be strong - ODAAT

Best place to come and get it all off your chest.

You can install online blockers which blocks all betting sites however my advise is to self exclude from all the online sites you use , ask for lifetime bans that way your very restricted in what you can do should the problem arise.

Well done for coming on here. Also you have realised/acknowledged you have a problem at a young age and you have your life ahead of you. Many of us have wasted many years before we get to the stage you are at. Good Luck x

great name toodumb to young

look the positive is you've realised gambling may be a problem

Thats why your here now isn't it?

So its now you go about it? The advice you've been given so far is excellent and hope you manage to stop before it grabs you.

If you have any doubt of this keep reading some of the other posts especially DuncanMac's in the recovery diaries

BUT even if you do go back to gambling remember the help is there

Good luck

Tri
