Hi, I am a 41 year old female who is addicted to online (and sometimes in the casino) slots. I am currently in around £30k worth in loans which have been taken out to pay previous gambling debt and which then get used to gamble with. It has come to a head today when I tried to get a further loan in the hope to consolidate my other loans and the only way I could was to take a loan against my house. I decided not to do this but instead come on here in the hope of sorting my life out. My loan repayments are just about manageable with very little disposable income left. I haven't told any family or friends and the aim is to get myself out of this mess on my own. My wage isn't bad and I find myself sometimes buying things or doing things so people don't suspect why I have no money without knowing about my debts.
As a new member, can I please ask if there is any way of blocking the foreign sites that are advertised to heavily on Instagram, Facebook etc? This is where I am really struggling to not gamble.
I am not sure how the site works, if I need to ring to speak to someone directly but this post is the first step in getting help. I am one gamble away from losing relationships with people I love and gambling has already cost me the chance to have w family, knowing that I cannot bring a child into this world being in so much debt.
Thanks for listening
Hayley

Hi. Hayley. Gamban, I believe, is a good tool that blocks all gambling sites. I have GamStop installed also after very heavy losses in the last few months, gambling daily . 2 weeks without it and feeling so much better already. Best wishes
Hi Hayley
I’m the wife of a cg
just to say all sites like facebook etc are designed like a slot machine, you keep on scrolling. They become addictive too.
You can self exclude from casinos, as said above you can put blocks on your phone and other gadgets.
call and talk to someone.
Gamstop, you can put a ban on for up to 5 years where it can get extended, whist your ban is active you can bot undo it. Take it 1 day at a time, im 34 and have struggled since I was 20 🙁
@s4i32k1ogj thank you for this and well done on two weeks!!
Thanks everyone, I will definitely contact Gamban tomorrow 😁 I am struggling to get past the idea of years of paying off gambling debt, it feels like a daily reminder. Want to be able to see a light at the end but just feels like 3+ years of paying this off before I can enjoy any form of gamble free life again x
Maybe deleting Facebook an option if it tempts u to gamble I wish you all the best keep coming on here and keep talking honestly and hopefully get you on the straight and narrow

Grab yourself a tea or a coffee, and sit down and list all your debts, and work out a plan to pay of the highest interest ones first, making the minimum payment on the lower interest debts.
This is called the 'snowballing' effect, that once the highest interest debt is cleared, use that payment towards the next highest until cleared, so on and so forth.
Best Wishes to you on this
If you don’t care about your credit rating you can contact your banks loans and pay a minimum amount, but if that frees up more money that would be a bad thing.
