I need help on these fobt machines , my story is every pay day the first few days I will steer clear of the bookies and think that's that, stay out, save money, yesterday I relapsed big time on the slot machines, upping my stakes, chasing losses, to the point where o transferee my wife's wages and then lost all that, I then made an excuse saying I needed it for car repairs but once she still hit the roof demanding it back regardless of car repairs or not, it's probably destroyed my marriage and now I have a other three weeks wait for the next payday , I obv went back into the bookies again chasing my kisses today but lost another £20, all I was trying to do was win enough to pay my wife back but now totally screwed on these slots , I don't know what to do, I feel like just ending it, I've gone from having £300 to myself knowing it was there for emergencies and now I'm £10 overdrawn and my wife had £300 she now has £56, the temptations there to take that and try to win the money back I've lost but the risk is stopping me, I can't do this much longer
Hi acorn83
Welcome back to the forum. We're glad you came back. No doubt other forum members will be here posting support soon, but in the meantime I wanted to say that it's worriying that you're thinking of ending your life. Please do get help for this, call Samaritans on 08457 90 90 90 and go to your GP.
I see from when you joined previously that you were doing counselling. We'd be happy to refer you again if you want to give us a call. You also put some measures in place at that time like having your salary paid into your wife's account. I guess that doesn't help if you have access to her account to transfer money from there too. Sounds like it might help if your wife kept hold of your bank cards and changed her account numbers so you don't have access to her account either.
We'd be happy to talk through these and other options to help you - please do give us a call on 0808 8020 133 or contact us on the Netline. We're here 8am to midnight every day.
Don't feel you have to struggle alone with this when there is help out there.
Best wishes
Deirdre

Hey Acorn83
I myself have a real problem with gambling as i have mentioned in another thread. If you wish to speak to someone going through what you are please feel free to contact me. We all need to help eachother and are all there for eachother. Let me know if you need anything. You have too much to live for to worry about money like that, we can get through this
Thanks guys
I just need £300 to pay my wife back and then my life can get back on track
Nobody will lend to Me even tho I would 100% pay it back on my next payday
I moved to Swansea Deirdre for a fresh start, no rent and it's creeping up to Me the past
Brokenirish do you have email
Ok well my dad managed to give me money to pay my wife back so I did and then deleted her from being able to transfer me any money. Blocked all access to me getting her money. I think the problem is you need a passport photo to ban yourself from bookies and even that doesn't work as I've they said if it's busy I could still sneak in and sometimes they can't do anything about it, sounds to me like they don't want me to self exclude myself and don't care
acorn83 i am glad you got sorted, hopefully this is the start of something much brighter for you now. Do you live within walking distance of bookies or do you drive? I get embarassed by people seeing me enter shops so that is one way i have saved from being addicted through going in to them
Affected by gambling?
