An unwell Pinky is still better than a gambling Pinky! Glad to hear you're enjoying the new job, even if it's making you ill!

We would be nearing 800 days GF if we hadn't slipped. Mad to think that, but as I said in my latest diary entry, 1 slip in 800 days is pretty awesome.

Stay strong my friend, gambling wise and health wise!! 👍

@lp5vut869c Thanks Stuart. Will do - if I can get comfy that is!😖.

Anyway, my sister is coming in the morning to see to all my needs/errands. She is the best nurse 🩷 (would do the same for her also).

Just trying to take it all day at a time and NOT to worry - have done enough of that the past year with one thing and another. No wonder I have ended up with this!

Day 281.

Boy, has this Shingles malarkey been painful/debilitating 🤢😖! 11 days on and I am only just starting to feel that I could be on the road to recovery 🤞🙏. The pain/rash has been mostly in my neck, shoulder and back with a small patch on my arm.

Yesterday, I woke up with immense pain in my arm and I could not move it (Shingles has no boundaries it seems)☹️. My sister had to take me back to the docs to get some nerve pain medication. He said I had a nasty, aggressive rash and that recovery could take another two to four weeks in total!😱. Thankfully, the nauseous feeling has now subsided and I feel like eating more things so hopefully I am on the road to recovery but another week off work it is to help me get there 🙏.

Usually, I would be absolutely panicking at the thought of not being paid and in the past when gambling, this would have been a huge trigger. Today however, I just remind myself that “health is wealth, I will get through it and it is not the end of the world”! So instead, next week, I will make the most of my recovery and just rest up watching all the grass court tennis and World Cup football 🎾⚽️👌. What a time to have Shingles - every cloud ☁️😝.

My lovely sister has been at my beck and call bless her and she will be heading over here later with a small food shop of things that I am now fancying 😇.

I got lovely feedback from my agency to say the nursery I am a T.A at, sent their love and that the staff “adore me”!🥲. A far cry from the lack of support I received from my previous line manager 👊. I am really looking forward to going back hopefully the week after next. Fingers crossed I have got all the kids viruses right out of my system 🤞🙏🙏🙏.

Take care all and hope you all have a good weekend and remember - “tomorrow is a new day” 🙏.

”No thoughts of gambling. No money spent on gambling. No money lost on gambling = Tick, tick, tick 👌💪”.

Day 289.

Feeling much better in myself now after a rough two weeks 👍. The nerve pain in my neck is subsiding, however, it is still giving me grief in my shoulder/arm still 😖.

The agency/nursery have been great with me and have been checking in 👍. We have agreed that I will just work 2 of my 3 days next week - Wednesday and Thursday. This will be exactly two weeks since I went off with Shingles. I will just have to grin and bear the pain in my shoulder and arm as I have been but hopefully another few more days off will allow for further recovery🤞🙏.

I actually received some sick pay from the agency. I was not expecting anything so that was a small bonus 👍. Anyway, I have not been worrying about the money side of things during this time and have just kept reminding myself that “everything will be ok”. No more, “I will gamble to get back my lost income”. As if!🤷🏻‍♀️. Those days are well and truly over 👊👋💪.

I am off to Edinburgh on Friday with my sister  to visit my son who lives there so all 3 of us are looking forward to that 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿. My son had pre-booked some nice restaurants for us to go to 👌.

Going to take a nice walk this afternoon with my sister. It will be good to resume daily activities after being unwell for the past two weeks 👌.

I am really looking forward to returning to work and seeing all the babies and children at the nursery next week. They bring me so much joy, even though I will probably be on my knees after being off for two weeks. Fingers crossed I will get through the two days unscathed 🤞🙏🥴. It is such a nice feeling however, actually looking to going into work. Instead of dreading going back to see what kind of a mood your line manager is in!. No more of that nonsense for me 👋👋👊.

Take care all and hope we all have a good week ahead and remember “tomorrow is a new day”. Until then, make the most of today 😎.

No thoughts of gambling. No money spent on gambling. No money lost on gambling = Tick, tick, tick”!👌💪.

I have just been reading through my old posts from this time last year (when I had been gambling again). I wasn’t sure what day I had last gambled in Aug/early September so I reset my counter on 13th September as day 1. This makes today therefore - 15th September as Day 2! Just for the record!🥴.

Have just edited the above post as it is wrong (spot the immediate mistake), so I explained in further detail. However, it did not save 😡. I have noticed this site now only allows you seconds, if that to edit a post 👎.

Anyway, the point of the above post was to highlight that my one year anniversary for remaining g.f again is on 13th September, which is when I reset my counter to Day 1. Not knowing the exact date I last gambled last August/early September, I decided to start on this date - just for the record!🥴.

Great news Pinky. Hope you have a great time in Edinburgh. Lots to see and do. Highly recommend comfy shoes! lots of hills, lots of walking to be done. Zoo is a great day out too with lots of new babies to see. Also very hilly!

Lets both get that year tick back up and not mess it up this time. I think we are both much wiser from our little slip up last time.

Stay strong 👍

Hi Pinky

Every time I read your posts, whatever is happening to you at that time, I read strength and facing life on life's terms. Every camber in my road used to keep me in action. You are such a beacon of light for people and showing that if you do tackle problems and don't run away, everything works out.

You always remind me that problems are like washing machines. They spin you around, knock you about, twist you around but in the end you come out cleaner

@p6z38njbqm Thanks Fish 🐟💙.

The most I will be doing in Edinburgh this time is staying in the city centre (me and my sister are staying in a hotel there). My son only has a one bed flat and whilst he offered up his room/double bed for me and my sister and he sleep on the zed bed, we declined on this occasion. It will mainly be catching up with my son, seeing where he lives and eating and drinking in some nice places my son knows.

Yes, I was thinking about you today and your one year g.f mark coming up (if it hasn’t already)! I think we both know that to gamble again is just not on the cards for either of us 💪🙏.

Take care and look forward to catching up on your diary.
