well here i am sat here feeling sorry for myself,

i need to stop gambling, years ago i knew i had a problem and got it under control,

then along came the machines .

i can go into a bookies and put a bet on the horses and enjoy it and walk out with money in my pocket, but if i start on them damned machines i may as well leave all my senses i just put note after note in.

I've lied cheated and stole of my partner and to cover this up i got a loan.

i would not mind I've got a got a good job.

the thing is i can see the same thing happening to my youngest son,he enjoys a bet too much some times ,

she s found out about the loan, her doing not me coming clean. she just told me that's us finished.sorry i seem to be rambling but ive got to get this under control and this seems a good place to start.

You've come to the right place. There are loads of stories to read and plenty of people around to give you advice.

Personally my problem is online gambling so I can't advise on avoiding the bookies but I have read that you can self exclude. Might be worth a try.

Giving up is really hard but by coming here and posting your thoughts - especially if you are feeling vulnerable - gets things off your chest and helps you see stuff in a better perspective.

Best of luck

thanks never had a on-line account and definitely wont be starting one now,

been reading some posts and looking at how people have tackled their problem.

self exclusion seems one way.

i need to find a way thats helps and works longterm for me,but i will start with one day and work on from that.

all the best to everyone.

just posting on here is a weight off my shoulders.

thanks
