Hi all,

I've just joined this site and I'm hoping it's going to be my lifeline. I've been online gambling for a couple of years and last year I tried to stop but obviously without success as I'm back in the same situation. No one knows what I do and I'm dying inside! I never have any money, and I really should have a healthy lifestyle. I feel sick and anxious all the time. The reason I've joined this site is because instead of going on my phone and opening yet another gambling account I'm going to come on here and get motivation and support to stop me gambling. Keeping everything crossed this time I have to change once and for all

Hi Ali1971.

Welcome to the forum. The forum will be one of your main lifelines and very important to you if you embrace it. If you read all the stories and learn about the addiction you will find it extremely useful.

Take the time to get involved and you will learn a great deal and gain strength.

I hope you have phoned gamcare because that is a good start. The advice you get here is top notch from people who have lived it and know how to beat the addiction.

You will need to be ready to block from these gambling places and perhaps tell someone close when you are ready.

This forum will be great for you as long as you realise its not about posting twice then its all sorted. Your mind will take time to heal once you are taking the right steps to make gambling history.

Best wishes from everyone on the forum

Hi Ali. I did the same thing I joined to stop myself going online and wasting more money, I often pop on and just read a random thread to remind myself I cant beat the gambling sites, I wont win the big one and to get a grip and stop gambling, I must be honest i havent stopped totally but ive cut down an awful lot, mainly by locking myself out of sites. I think the tales and advice on here are like a reality check so keep checking in

Hi Ali

You have done the right thing admitting you have a problem. The advice you get on this forum as already stated is great and will steer you in the right direction. Do as joydivider advised and ring Gamcare, I did and am getting myself sorted with proffesional help.

Good luck
