I am suffering with sports betting addiction and have lost about xx. I was up xx but then lost everything in a week and xx on top of it. I thought I was always in control but this time I don't understand what happened to me! I think I have a problem and I want to tell you guys that I want to give up. I have self excluded and registered with gamestop just now. I have lost so many bets by a point or a goal not given etc etc..it feels like someone is watching and not letting me win! lol. I just want to end this. Hopefully writing about it will help I think. Please let me know if coming regularly on to the forum would help? I have not told my wife about it and this is the only secret. I just want to clear the debt and never go back to betting again ever! please help me guys
Hi freecoder, I started gambling again after four years (2015). I'm at day 10 and it does get easier. . You can put stops in the way to help you but you must want to give up. It's really not worth it in the end as it's costing you money and time away from more important things. Goodluck mate!

Yes it does really help coming on here but you will probably need other things to help you along. Many of us on here have relapsed more than once, so we know it is very hard to do alone. Firstly if you bet online install Gamstop and exclude for 5 years. Also talk to the helpline on this site. They can offer support and counselling if necessary. You may also want to look at GA but first I would recommend talking about it to someone close and maybe talk to your wife when you are ready. Forget the debt it will go in time. You know chasing doesn’t help . You need patience now and to stop gambling. In time the debt will clear.

i dont have the courage to tell my wife as will ruin our relationship. I hope I can do this myself.
I am sure I can do it this time and never go back to betting again. My problem is only sports betting and I dont go to casino or like any other form of gambling.
I always thought that sports can be predicted by form of the team and looking at the stats..but it seems Its not that easy. Things change dramatically and the worse thing is we dont have any control over it. for eg who predicted that liverpool and spurs will make it to the champions league final!!!!
The bottom line is that I am not RISKING my hard earned money anymore..!!!!!

Wow! You read my mind...who could of predicted that. I'm a sports better and anything can happen in football. Even the faviourites lose. It's just too risky. Betting can be fun for some but for others it's a problem
