Hi all, im a 20 year old student who over the past 2 years has had a problem gambling. I would gamble with my monthly work check and even went into my savings and really set myself back from buying a house. I opened an overdraft and thats when it got really bad. It wasnt a big overdraft but it was enough to make me not be able to pay certain bills or enjoy any time out with my friends because i spent every bit of spending money i came into. I recently confessed to my long term girlfriend about my issue and she has been nothing but supportive together we self excluded myself from all my open gambling accounts and im starting my road to recovery i am simply on this forum to document my experience incase there are any other young people afraid to speak out. Hope you are all well

Luke

ps sorry for bad grammar / spelling as i am dyslexic

Good for you Luke.  I also got very deep into my gambling at university and did not take action until many years after, so kudos to you for getting on to it so easy.  You can very soon dig yourself out of any hole quickly at your age and use the experience to grow your character and help others as you already seem to be doing by posting on here.

I wish only I could have been more like you at your age (I am 37 and even now have the odd problem with this nasty addiction).  Well done Luke, keep up the good work.
