Evening everyone,

Just popping in to say hello to other people going down the same dark & miserable road as myself.

I'm 27 years old on a very decent wage with a lovely caring family & partner. I've nearly thrown my life away but realise that its time to take action and become a man. I've entered into an IVA this year due to spiralling debts due to gambling, borrowing to gamble & so on, easy to snowball & before you know it, BANG you're on the bottom.

I've recently admitted my problem to parents and partner, who are understandably gutted ( I am a nice person but this has really gotten hold of me) i've gotten into arrears on my car finance and IVA. NO CAR NO JOB scenario is scary to think about. I've had a chat with family who are going to help me in my recovery, what do people find the best action to take? Do forums like this help hearing from others in this position, what about counselling or GA meetings?

I look forward to hearing from you.

Welcome....it's all very quiet here at the moment ...tec problems ..so don't be put off by lack of replies. ...
Firstly. ...very well done of telling partner and parents....that's probabally the biggest hurdle that most of us addicts try to defer....and you've done it....
Id advise a chat with the helpline...especially as there is so few on here to support you at the moment....they'll guide you through options and offer you ways to help with you're recovery.....
Take each day as it comes....and with you're families love and support you'll get through this...
I think we all worry about the debts in the early days....but they can all be sorted ....just set realistic targets that you can cope with....I've not done ga but many have....and find it very helpfull....so worth a look...
Good luck....
