Hi I'm new to this. I feel I'm a gambling addict and want to flush it out of me! People know I like to gamble but don't know just how much! The only other person who knows is my friend who I would also say is an addict as we only speak to each other about our wins and losses. Everyone else is kept in the dark! I was in the casino with him yesterday and got up to around £300 up. In the end walked out over £500 down. Then got home and spent another £500 online. And that moment something clicked. (Something always clicks but this was different) and decided enough was enough! I've been gambling since I was 18. I've had some very big wins but over all my losses are a lot higher than my wins. Over all in the 7 years I've been gambling I'd say I'm atleast 30-50k down.(don't really want to know just how much!) Luckily I'm not in debt and still have savings but I'm quitting as of last night!! I gamble on everything from bandits. Slots. Table games. Online. Football bets pretty much everything. I don't get huge urges to gamble but when I'm bored that's when I seem to gamble. I don't get angry when I lose. And don't really chase losses. But if I'm not addicted in defiantly borderline and it needs to stop! I'm glad I've found this site because I feel it can really motivate me! Thanks for listening guys. Feels a relief even telling strangers over the internet as this is the 1st time I've admitted to being an addict. Anyway happy 1st day of not gambling to me! Haha

Thanks for the reply! Hopefully it was a permanent click we both got! The thing that annoys me most is when you lose a big amount unless you get a big win back. You can never replace the money due to gambling so often! I find it incredibly hard to save! Luckily I set up an account a few years ago that I can't access so atleast some of my money goes there and I have something to show for past few years! I recently got back from holiday and decided I was due a win! Soon realised the house always wins after blowing about £2500 in 10 days! Oh well onwards and upwards! That's the problem with my friend. I'd say 90% of the time I see him we are gambling and it's not healthy! Stay strong and we will fight it! 1st day and I'm feeling good! Looking forward to saying it's been a week!

same for me my friends all gamble and have gambling problems but its time to wake up and realise there is only one winner and its not us.most of the time gambling you fighting just to break even and get your money back very few times do we win straight away, and if we do we have just got there and dont want to stop so its a no win situation

day on roll on day 7 one week

4th day without gambling now. Saturdays here though and I'm so tempted to put on football bets as I'm watching soccerAM. Also Sunday I usually go casino so temptation is there! Going to make sure I stay strong because I know the weekend will be my weakest point! I'll be a winner this weekend without gambling!

So turn soccer am off go do something else!
Expecting change to occur without making changes is not going to work.
If you want to stop you have to face the fact that what you do is not working for you so must try something new

Hilly1,

My old online statements look disgusting.

It's lovely to see mine for the last 14 days showing no gambling debits.

Keep up the excellent work.
