Hello!
Â
Okay, I've done everything I can: I've cut up my debit card and only use contactless, got gamban, put blocks on my banks, etc. Fantastic.
Â
The only problem now is that I live very close to some seaside amusement arcades that just installed contactless change machines, so when I inevitably slipped up I just walked out with pocketfuls of pound coins and went to my usual old pub to gamble them.Â
Â
I've tried to tell the staff, but they just don't get it, it's like banging my head against the wall. I've also tried gamstop to see if they could somehow add the arcades in question, but no luck (yet anyway). The only solution at this point that I can see is going into (all five!) arcades and starting to knock the machines around 'til I get banned, but as you can imagine I'm not fond of this approach, and besides, that won't help if other such machines are installed.
Â
A thought, maybe there's a bank that lets you blacklist absolutely anything you want? I dunno.
Â
Thanks in advance!
Hi Arghgambling
Â
Thanks for posting and well done on the things you've put in place so far. One thing you might like to consider is registering a self exclusion with both Smart Hub and Bacta for arcades and adult entertainment centres. They both cover these venues but each covers different companies. This would give you a measure of protection without resorting to the extremes of criminal damage, which, of course, we wouldn't endorse.
