I love this film and the concept behind it. I'm sure, like me,.many have asked the question, what if I never gambled or gave up earlier. For me, any changing road in my past would not bring me to this point of growth which is why I can say I am a grateful compulsive gambler. Anyway, that's not the topic I was going to talk about but if anyone wants to comment they can on either of the things I wanted to mention this morning.

The topic for me is closing the door. I feel that I face a double door scenario. I remember the moment when I self excluded and then installed gamban. I first of all knew it was shutting the door on gambling but in a split instance I realised it also shut the right hand double door on my love of horse racing. I knew I could watch other sports but horse racing would be gone forever alongside gambling. In that moment,.I had my hands on the door handles, I knew I wanted to close the doors but did I. Did I want to leave a gap for a draught to come through or shut and lock them for good. Well I did and they are firmly locked.

For me, this is why day one is so important. It's not only that moment of mentally wanting to stop gambling but it's preparing to do the work after shutting the doors. It's very much a moment of ending a relationship.
