Hi everyone, firstly I hope everyone on here is still finding the strength in there journey to continue to reach there goals daily, weekly and for others monthly and yearly, for me personally I’m 8 days into my story after being obsessed for 20 years with gambling in all forms, I’ve been apprehensive to come into a public forum for many reasons that I’m guessing 100s also would feel around the addiction, I’m here to share my story, I’ve found speaking over the last 8 days has helped to solidify that I am ready to live a new life without gambling. I hope to hear back from anyone that’s happy to engage in any way about there journey and what it may look like for me over the next short weeks. Thanks.Â

Well done and it was lovely to chat to you in the chatroom. I'm sorry if my comment at the start came over wrong. I completely agree that it doesn't matter how long anyone has gambled, how long they are off a bet, what sort of gambling they did etc I was just trying to portray some hope mate. What you've done in 8 days is absolutely huge. Considering how difficult the first week can be you've already got the blocks in place as you mentioned in the chat, you've got some accountability and building connection through talking. Those three things forming a foundation are absolutely hated by the addiction and tough to get in place in that first week. I'm genuinely impressed.Â
Have you had a chance to read through some of the diaries on here and other subjects. There is always something to take from each one.Â
Have you got any thoughts on filling in the time you now have ? Plenty of things like walking and exercise, work around the house, even talking create healthy dopamine.Â
