Rock Bottom

I've avoided making an account somewhere like here for a very long time. For the past year or so I feel my gambling has been becoming steadily worse and this last week has been rock bottom. I have managed to flutter away most of my wages within a few days of getting paid. The irony? I was up £*** on my first £*** deposit.

I have self excluded myself from many an online casino but it seems there's always another online casino available.

I am sick and tired of feeling this way. I am sick of the second I get some money my first thought going to gambling. Half of the time I end up a fair bit up too, but the thought to stop doesn't cross my mind and frankly it's scary.

My life aside from this and the problems that the lack of money can cause is honestly going great. I have got a new girlfriend within the last few months who means the world to me.

I am not sure what I hope to accomplish here, but I think if I post here rather than gamble for a start or at least try to, that will help.

Well done sitting you have a problem. Stop now while you can, put blocking software on your phone and iPad, it works. Think about your girlfriend, you don’t want to loose her, you could have a lovely life ahead of you, good luck

Hi FN

Welcome to the forum, you have made a good step forward by firstly admitting you need help and secondly seeking that help out.

I am new to the forum myself and I have already received some great advice! Have you registered with GAMSTOP? I did this yesterday, it excludes you from the majority of uk online betting sites, I already feel like half the temptation has been lifted from me knowing it’s been taking from my control and I’m now banned! It’s a relief to know that even if I wanted to, I can’t! Keep posting in the forum, there’s some great advice here. Wishing you all the best.

I have registered with GAMSTOP just today yes and I do think that will be a great help. Does anybody know if using GAMSTOP could cause problems for relatives living at the same address who do wish to gamble (just that they don't have a problem...)?

I don’t think they would be allowed to do that. Well done taking that step! I hope you feel some relief already. Look forward now and not back, stay strong.

Hi FN,

In our trade we are never up. You might have been £*** up on your £*** deposit but to people like us it just prolongs the agony. Winning to a CG is an illusion. Just gambling chips for the next day.Heres the truth we are like drug addicts we dont win but merely prolong the agony and inevitably we lose in the end then deposit more to chase what weve already lost. Only when we realise this can we even think about recovery.

Good Luck on your journey

Al

Good Luck on your journey
