Hello,
My names Chris, I'm 25 and Gambling is slowly runing my life. Last week I took out a £4,000 Loan to (I think we all know where that went) eaten up by a multitude of Online Casinos and Football betting, Today has to be the start of a brighter future, I've made half-assed attempts before but never really admitted I had a problem, I guess now it's time to see I do.
I've worked since the age of 14 and gambled since I've had money in my pocket (So about 10years) I've always earnt more than my bills, a person in my shoes should obviously have savings, All I have is Debts.
I have limited people I can talk to it about, I can't talk to my Girlfriend or Parents, I do have a very good freind who knows everything and has had the same troubles as me in the gmabling world.
So it's time for stop looking for someone else to blame or an easy way out, start getting my head down, saving and looking forward to a proper future.
Thanks for taking your time to read about me, any tips / advice / General convo is welcomed 🙂
Hi Naneek,
Welcome to the forum, and thanks for sharing your story here.
It seems like you have been struggling with your gambling problem for a long while, and wouldn’t admit to it until now.
You’ve have been working so hard since the age of 14 years, and yet the gambling problem has been robbing you of money that you could have saved for a rainy day. However, it’s always advisable to do something about it than nothing at all. Thus you’re taking a step in the right direction atm.
At age 25 years, you hopefully have many years ahead of you where you can stop and become a gamble free person.
I’ll thus advise you to let go of all your losses, to focus on your recovery, and to look forward to a gamble free future.
Gamcare is ready to help and support you every step of the way if you follow our strategies. You can do it, Chris!
Hopefully, you’ll also be getting some support from fellow forum members too.
