Hi Stew,

Welcome to the Forum and congratulations on taking the first step in gaining support for yourself. I noticed that you have joined the Chistmas challenge, too.

I have moved your post to the new members section as it looks like you have just started here and you are more likely to receive responses.

How about joining one of our chatrooms to connect to others here or start a recovery diary, too. Relapsing can be a very difficult experience and it can seem like you are back at square one. You can use this as a learning curve though and stick with what helped you before and improve what hasn´t worked out. Urges to appear, but you can learn how to cope withh these.

You say that you had counselling before. If this was with Gancare or our partners, maybe you can return, if you found it helpful before?

Kind wishes

Gabriele

The best way I found was to get on the 12 step recovery programme with GA and go to my GA meetings as often as possible. Basically we are compulsive gamblers which makes stopping with will power alone virtually impossible, the only way we can beat it is stopping all forms of gamlbing (even raffle tickets) and to do this we need help and support from others.

GA is a great place to start as you will hear from fellow compulsive gamblers who will have all been in your position so can offer advice.
