Hi everyone. I started gambling about 2 years ago, no idea what started it but soon it started taking over. I got my credit card up to over 1000 after i ran out of my own money. When my boyfriend found out he helped me to stop. Then i went on an all inclusive holiday so i had some spare cash one money and when i came back i thought id have a "flutter" and spent around 400. I got a loan to pay back my credit card thinking if i can pay it back each month and not gamble i'd clear the debt. I paid off my credit card and boom, back up to 700 gambling on it again. Recently i managed to stop for 3 months and used K9 but K9 eventually crashed my computer so i uninstalled it. For some unknown reason last month i started gambling again, thinking it would just be occasional, how wrong was i! After losing 60 which i dont have i called all the gambling sites i could think of to block my accounts (one site is really not helpful at all!) however i missed a few and they sent me emails and ive gambled again over the last few days. Today i called the remaining sites to close my accounts and also called GamCare who sent me here. I cant believe something so mundane can be so addictive. I feel so scared right now as im waiting for my boyfriend to come home from work so i can tell him what ive done and so i can give him my bank card so i cant open up accounts on new sites! Any ways, sorry for the rambling and thanks for listening!

I gambled 13 years , i would do anyghing to go back where u r now!!! So please dont waste your time and money on this devil game. Read many posts here , there is too many good advices and stories to motivate u.most true advice is you can never win in this game as if u win 1000 soon u loose 3000 if u win 5000 u will loose 9000 .its simple is that as u can never wslk away with your win as we couldnt.. So as i see u have already have support from your boyfriend so be open with him ..giving cards helps on short term .u need to make your mind stronger n understand that u can not win..never chase your losses.. I am 38 years old and i believe u r younger , u have full of your life in front of u..live it beautifully..take care n keep us posted

Thank you for your kind words. I'm 30 and my boyfriend is 34, in his younger days he gambled too much and now has 14k debt so luckily he understands but he wont touch it now and i worry he's gonna get sick of me lapsing all the time. I am lucky enough to notice i have a problem but helpless when it comes over me, usually when im on my own. I now dont have enough money to buy next weeks shopping and i feel just terrible that he's gonna have to pay for most of it, he deserves better! Well tomorrow is day 1 so lets see how i get on!

Dont feel pitty yourself, it makes u weaker as it did to me. Believe and trust yourself. Your boyfriend would understand the situation as he was same some point .u said when u r on your own the devil attacks as it did to all of us so try to find sth to keep u busy at the beginning.. And never forget we can not win truly in this game..
