Hello.
So here goes, I'm new here, only got hooked on the slots around 2 years ago, I have 2 friends who know I have a problem, they try and help, but after a week or so I get back on it, thinking I'll hit a big win on the free spins or something. It doesn't happen.
I cant tell my girlfriend about this, she has enough going on at the moment with an autistic child and another one that likes to wind him up, I'm currently, believe it or not, being the strong shoulder she needs to cry on, but I've found myself being horrible to her, and the boys, all because I've got myself into a world of s**t by gambling.
I thought I could knock it on the head, but no, I'm chasing my losses, and losing more, I know what I'm doing is wrong, I tell my friends that know that I have it under control, but here I am, crying out for somebody to help me stop.
I don't want to lose my family, and many folk will say just tell her, but unfortunately it's not that easy, I wish it was, cant tell my parents as I'm so ashamed of myself, they helped me out years ago when I moved out, so I feel pretty sh***y about everything.
Anyway, any help would be appreciated, and if I can help anybody else in any way then just let me know.

stay strong, keep the faith (you're in the right place) read other diaries for inspiration and advice and I'm sure others will comment on yours more with the intention of advising you with your plight.
But ultimately no one is going to come along and bail you out here, are you ready for the fight? Do YOU want it enough?

You become hooked on the feeling of playing but its NOT a get it back later scheme.
You need to recover a healthy mind. One that understands the real reasons you have been escaping on them and one that understands the real odds.
When you have a healthy mind you will wonder why you ever did it. You are not in control of your own mind now and you need help. If you continue gambling its got new lows in store for you...homelessness bankruptcy and isolation are just some of them.
You need a born again moment ...are you ready? Your goal is a serenity and peace with yourself.
