Evening everyone!!

A momentous day for the team and the soldiers in it!! It's fitting that Batman posted the 1000th post on the thread on a milestone day - congratulations superhero!! As Gladsdad suggests, would be great to hear about what the key ingredients have been on your recovery journey that's brought you this far? Many congrats on the 10 weeks - great going soldier!!

So here come the stats.......we are slightly over 2/3rds of the way to 100% retention for the week, with some big name missings. We have now posted over 1000 posts on the thread over 200 pages that detail our trials, tribulations, some inner most thoughts, many many victories, some battles lost........however, in short, it is the collective diary of a group of people who continue to commit to a common goal.

Never in my life have I known such a large body of people, who have never met one another, but have such collective goal harmony........one single aim, a common purpose..........and such an opportunity to succeed at removing the very thing that has been sucking the essence of our beings from us.

It is a day to be proud......proud of ourselves, proud of our army, proud of our achievements, proud of what we stand for in our new worlds, proud that we can or soon will be able to look in the mirror and accept our past but look forward to our future, proud that we are a part of something that is bigger than just us, proud that we are not alone in this, proud that we are not shackled by an unseen or misunderstood affliction, proud to be able to talk about the potential of being proud..............we have achieved something that we should allow a moment to simply feel proud..........

........but then again.......every day we do not gamble, we should exercise some self compassion in the way we typically offer compassion to those around us.........and feel proud........it is allowed........without guilt.

Pride can come before a fall............so guards up!! We have won battles, but it is a long war.

Front page is updated team..........just over 48 hours to check in deadline........urge our comrades to be here.......and be proud!!!!'

Hey Gang, im kinda struggling today to be honest. I've not gambled, I really really don't want to. I have no enjoyment doing it, but I think I have figured out why I do it.

I think it is because my pay never quite stretches the month, i am probably like 250 short each month, say 350 to lead a comfortable life (debt repayments every month don't help). But I honestly think I gamble as I think, "I could win that 250" and then I'd be fine. Maybe getting a second job would help, but I see an easy quick fix in gambling. I truly don't like doing it, that's the thing, it's like I'm pushed into it and it's my only true option. Thing is I know I won't win and by doing it, it will leave me even shorter in the month (Vicious circle continues). But there was always that hope and maybe I'll win well this time!

With me, it's absolute money orientated.

I still hate gambling and am determined to beat it and not succumb but it always looks like an easy option to help with my finances.

All the best gang, I won't let you all down and most importantly, myself down

Drew

I know were your coming from drew.at times i used to gamble to try and pay for thing and ive had tbe odd thought like that latley too but ive resisted.for example my car tax was due and i thought a wee punt and win the money for it.but i know from my history that even if i won it wouldnt be enough and i would lose it plus more and be in aa worse state financially.when you have won before the lure of quick and easy money is always a temptation but we all know were it leads and will just make life worse.

Maybe you can talk to the people you owe money to and reduce your monthly payments.ive done that before with my credit cards and You would be surprised how much they can help.froze my interest and reduced my minimum payments by half.

Stray strong mate and dont gamble.im 61 days gamble free and im gettin my life back.this forum and this thread is my best chance yet to get rid of gambling out of my life.hang in there buddy.you can do it!!

Thanks very much for the advice mate,

You are spot on about this thread and forum and the help and encouragement it gives us. I'm hanging in there as I know gambling will only lose me more money and ill be worse of than I was before, but i guess the temptation and devil on the shoulder will always be there.

Got to stay strong though and keep focus and my guard up.

I'll give my debt people a call and see if I can lower payments as that will help. I guess the knowledge that if I stick to everything I won't be debt ridden forever.

Thanks once again for your words buddy, it's what helps getting through the tough times.

All the best to you mate,

Drew
