Thanks Dot83
Good luck with your GF this weekend, I am over half way through my first day and am feeling good! I must admit I've thought about going to the bookies a few times today but instead of doing that I've come on here and read through some posts which really helps me!
Mike
Checking in on day 18 for me,Had my first gamcare session today which was difficult but i managed it so onwards and upwards!
Keep Going people !
Hi Guys,
Mr B i would love nothing more than to celebrate my year free of gambling with my fellow soldiers.
Del 🙂 #lovesabeerortwelve
Well done on 9 months Del, I have just checked my rota and I am in on the 15th, but nobody has it booked off so I will book some time off to come up and celebrate your massive achievement.
Been a good week for me, no bets and beat all temptation. The people I'm working with right now really are testing me, but the more times I tell them I'm not interested the more chance it will hopefully sink in.
Glad to see everybody is doing so well. I think it takes a lot to slip up and then come back here and admit it. I was seriously close to slipping up several times these past few weeks and I think it probably would have led to a few months of madness for me. Ive had a good think what it was that got me so close to slipping up and tried to reinforce my barriers and ensure if it happens again I deal with it in a better way than how I did.
Keep up the good work everyone and thanks to Mr B for putting so much time into this. The drinks are on Mr B on the 15th in Glasgow, he can afford it now he's got his own tv ad 😉
Very good bornagain!! The Counting House, Bier Kellar and Waxy's better watchout..........and the parents of Glasgow, lock up your daughters......the Big Philla is coming to town!!
Friday 15th August, Glasgow, Delboy's 1 Year Anniversary wahoo.......all invited!!! Del, if she's up for it, would love to meet your Mrs??
That's 3 of the new soldiers welcomed to the group with one more potential if Big Man posts again. Will formally add Mikesaf, Julio and Shortie777 on Sunday - welcome folks!!
NoCrisis - I have so much admiration for you soldier. As bornagain and triangle have called out, it takes courage and commitment to come back to the group and admit a blip. You've had a lapse, not a relapse........the learnings are there..........and you'll be stronger for it, with a much higher chance of sustainable recovery there. Really proud to be walking with you. The other reason for admiring and not ashamed to say this, but you've helped the rest of the group too - we all need to learn from this.......the damned gambling industry will get cuter at sucking us back in. NoCrisis has given us more reason to keep the guard up and resist the 'no strings' promises they make.
Don't know why, but the spidey senses are tingling a bit this week.......2 full days before check in closes, 22 of 36 checked in.......all the signs seem strong for a good week for the team. However, check in patterns have changed slightly.......some typically late 'checkers' have already checked and typically early 'checkers' are so far missing (newer members tend to check in early!!).........I'm probably and hopefully wrong.......so encourage the guys you see posting on their diaries who haven't checked in to get a post on here!!!
For those of you who haven't seen my post on the recovery diaries earlier this week, the Spotlight this week will be on JamesP - it's a great read as you'd expect!!
So, update on Sunday, handover planned with bornagain later that day and then a suitcase to pack!! Thanks for the holiday messages!! I'm on a night out tomorrow, so forgive any random posts when I'm on the train home!! I'll update the front page Saturday morning.
It's Friday tomorrow!! Stay strong.
The "cageless" Mr Brightside, compulsive gambler, but 159 days clean 🙂
Thank you all for the continued support. No Crisis checking in on day one.
Mr Brightside
Thanks for welcoming me into the group day one is over for me and I must say it feels good to be surrounded by you guys! today was hard but you all got me through it!
