Everyone is reading and watching 'no problem' thing is people are coming on here with a minute or two to spare to check in and have a quick check on how someones doing in relation to gamble free days, maybe not to have a discussion, perhaps best expressing thoughts on a seperate thread if you have something to ask or seek advice with something, none the less well done on the 19 days gamble free, if you hate the bookies that much then use that as the fuel to reach 100 days, 200 days, 500 days. I'm also riding along side Gerry on 28 days, hoping everyone had a positive start to a new gamble free week.

Checking in on 28 days.

No problem - start a new thread much easier to comment fully on there (which is just for you) rather than on here (which is for everyone in the challenge).

I started a diary when early on here and found it very helpful, not many people joined in but some did and they mattered. If you start a thread I'll pop in and support where I can.

Good.luck in your recovery, my record is 4 months so getting close to that now, I keep cards largely at home, avoid opportunity but largely it is a choice and my will is strong, I have nearly lost everything and fear another relapse will cause no.end of problems. Every day not gambling is a success try not to.dwell on the past and get angry at bookmakers it is the regulators where your anger should lie as they allow it to happen. Read duncanmac diary very inspirational for your journey ahead.

Hi Chaney86 and welcome to the challenge. You've made the first difficult step, there's a lot of support on this website and you may find it helpful to start a diary. If you post in the New Members Intros Forum you'll find you'll get lots of support and advice. I found that it really helped me to read everyone's posts, it made me feel less alone and also I learnt the first things to do when trying to abstain from gambling. Good luck, you can do this, take one day at a time x

Checking in on day 100! So happy to reach triple figures, I never thought I'd get this far, tackling each day as it comes and remaining on my guard, but feel so much better in myself already. Congratulations Dazz1982 as you'll also hit 100 days today. We can do this! X

Casey (& Dazz),

Welcome to the century club 🙂

Have you been here before??

As you may know im on 200 plus days now, never ever got to 100 days before joining here last May. 18 long years of stress. Just remember to treat today the same as yesterday and tomorrow the same as today. After Ll all we can really do is to promise to yourself 'today I will not gamble'.

Casey,

You dont have your own diary??

Why not start one? If it helps you get everything down in one place where you can return when (if) times get difficult.

It may also inspire others on here knowing that it isnt impossible to overcome those gambling urges.

Thanks for the posts folks. Yesterday was a rough day for me, i was thinking about fobt machines more and was getting upset. I guess we will all have these urges and some days will be harder than others. Feeling good today on day 20 of no bookies and no fobt.

Thanks everyone for the messages, 100 days in here! Also special congrats to my gamble free days comrade Casey, great work we can celebrate all the milestones together!

Sonic boom - I have done 4 months last year but unsure on days, so nearly at a record after 15 years of trying.

Keep fighting everyone, 1 day is a milestone as is 100 and 1000, this is the start now we need to build for lifelong recovery.

Hi Sonic Boom, thank you for your good wishes, much appreciated. I have never been here at 100 days before, in fact in 7 years gambling I never missed a day on the online slots, not even on holiday when I would rack up hundreds of pounds in Internet access to panic about paying when I got home. I never started a diary because I've always been massively introverted and didn't believe that anyone would be interested in anything I had to say. I'm growing a bit in confidence in myself on this journey and have posted a few times on people's diaries, so maybe I'll pluck up the courage to start one soon. This forum and my weekly GA meetings are my lifeline, a very important part of my recovery. Taking each day at a time, hope your day has been good too x

Great work on your 1st Century 🙂
