I now know first hand how much effort goes into this!!
I believe Clare will be taking the reins again. Im sure she would appreciate some assistance at some stage, if anyone fancies taking over for a week just shout up 🙂
Wishing you all a gamble free week... August is just around the corner... dunno where the years gone!!

Checking In - Day 409
Thanks for the milestone updates during this week Mark. I definetely agree they encourage us and it feels like we are working together as a team. Huge congrats to Tri on a massive 500 days! Hopefully the urges are not troubling you at this stage & you are enjoying life. Another week ahead to be safely negotiated - it's great to be part of this team. Suzy
Congrats Triangle......you're a little ahead but keeping a similar philosophy. 1 day at a time.
Apologies for the late check in... Day 86 - NO GAMBLING
thanks
bf
Late check in as i wanted to reach 7 months gamble free and at 211 days gamble free i have reached this goal.
Every day i go from this is a new record for me as i once gave up gambling before for 7 months and then screwed it up.
However i feel stronger than ever this challenge helping so much with that btw.
Even though work life is still a nightmare and my personal life has little meaning or direction, i have resisted the urge to gamble for 211 days!!
Roll on my next goal of a entire year!
Love to all and best wishes.

sonic boom - lets both make that one year challenge a success - we have similar days and we can do it!!!
Checking in day 88
Checking in day 28 !! 4 weeks gamble free feeling great, and starting to appreciate the value of money again, determined to get to next payday with a lump left over from this to save. It's staying in my pocket rather than filling the pockets of the rich bookies.
Keep up the good work everyone have a great week !
DAY 19. Well i had a lovely break last week but back to work wednesday in a job i detest, so many pwer trippers where i work and i do get gambling temptations after a bad shift. I wont succumb to it as i have had 19 days away from a bookies and fobt machines. Does anyone else have issues with their job that drive them to want to gamble though?
Hi sorry for not checking in with the events that happened on the thread it left me with a bit less enthusiasm for it but I realise that's unfair to those that have stepped up to help all others (myself included) get to the finish line. So I'm back and I'll make sure I'm checking in each week once again.
Is it actually worth posting anything on here. Ive posted loads of comments and had no response. Also i dont like the way admin blot out names of parasitic bookmakers, this is a forum to air our thoughts and i find coral, B*****d, l*******s etc to be money grabbing s**m. If you blot this out then you are in my opinion trying to protet them from bad press and just as bad as they are.
all blotted it out lets try this, scumbag bookies L adbrokes, B etfred, C oral, W illam Hill. Money grabbing parasites, I wish all of you would not fund these bookies and their employees , i havent used one for 19 days, this site is supposed to help gamblers. one, you hardly ever get a response and 2, the site blots out names of bookies, which i find a disgrace.
No problem, 19 days is a great start mate keep it up !, im only on day 28 so know how tough the early days are, I do also have urges at work - we have a bookies 150 yards away and my boss is a huge online gambler, horses all afternoon when hes not too busy. I had to have a word and say I'm trying to avoid gambling can you not talk to me about it and he has kept it to himself and shuts his door during races. Maybe tell a few workmates than your not gambling and they may help you. Also change your route home ? say its a few miles longer but you don't pass a bookies your saving money ! All the best mate
Thanks for the response gerry8, at least someone is listening.lol. Is this your longest period away from gambling, i did over a 100 days in 2013 and 43 days earlier this year. I have my partner keep my card for me which helps, but today has been a test, ive just wanted to go bookies and play to escape thoughts about work. I havent caved in though. Hope you stay gamble free too.
Well done on letting the urge come and go. Yes it is my longest ! not proud to say but 4 weeks is absolutely massive for me ha, I could take or leave gambling in the week but my weekends used to revolve around it, everything from studying horses in the paper with breakfast to making sure im watching spanish football on a saturday night as it's the last leg of my accumulator. over 100 days is fantastic you have to beat that mate, just think you've done it before you can do it again. I cant wait to hit milestones 50,100,200+ definitely means more to me to get there than ruin it on a bet ! Let's keep it up 🙂
Affected by gambling?
