Checking in on Day 40 for myself, feeling good that not only have I managed to abstain this long, but also realise quitting is the only way of really winning when you are compulsive gambler.

“I'm looking forward not backwards". sorry Dunc,I know I ve stolen that but it is very true.

Good evening everyone,

Checking in on 413 gamble free days for the final time for a while tonight.

The reason is that I am in the Armed Forces and I have been informed today that I am off on a short notice job away from the UK this weekend up until April. I will have no / limited internet access so I cannot guarantee a weekly check in. I am very confident that I won't gamble as I will not be privy to any temptations due to the area I am going to.

I will look forward to returning to the forum in April and looking at the success stories and comradery that this forum brings.

Stay strong everyone and give it 100% of your effort as you will reap the rewards.

Mike

Thanks for the heads up Mike, I will keep you checked in till you are back. Stay safe and if you can get the odd message on I look forward to reading it.

Its gone a little quiet this week, I hope all the troops are well and not struggling too much this week. Remember to post how you are feeling and you can email me for the telephone list if you need it.

Please send Stephen2105 some messages of support on his recovery diary, hes had a slip today. I have confidence Stephen can get back on track and beat this addiction, its been a struggle lately for him so please spend a little time on his diary.

Hi Everone checking in for another GF week and first personal MILESTONE on Saturday. My personal challenge was to set aside all the GF days from last year and start afresh to be completely GF in 2015. On Saturday I will have achieved along with many others in this challenge 1 month GF. Feels great to be moving into February being GF.

Thanks Phil for another great update, positivity is foremost in my mind towards a GF year and continuing healthy living. Keep strong everyone, small steps one day at a time.

Mo

Hi guys checking in for the week. Haven't been on forum much lately as being kept busy job hunting.

Any of yous that were on the 2014 challenge will remember I set myself the goal of organising the charity event. Well for 2015 I've set myself a few goals as well with finding work being top of that list. When was gambling used to spend all my time on online betting sites, well now it's on job advertising sites. Staying gamble free is on the,it's as well which helps my goal of regaining confidence in myself and boosting my own self esteem

It's terrible what this addition can do to you, I went from a happy go lucky 18 year old who had loads of friends to a sad depressed 24 year old with low self esteem and had pushed load of friends away as only interest was being in bookies gambling

Day 29 for me looking forward to Sunday One month in to the challenge and one month bet free. I have a day off and a day to relax with the Mrs. We're actually gonna go to our local club for a couple of cheap drinks to celebrate, long way to go but I feel good.

Hi all

Checking in day 25 gf, nearly got sucked back in to it when the marketing machine e mailed me trying to entice me with a free £25 bet, have to say this really tested my resolve and had I not opened this forum I may have cracked, anyway happy to say that did not happen and I feel a lot better for it.

Well done to all going strong and to those who have fallen of the wagon and got back on, respect to all of you and good luck in staying free from gambling.

Scott
