hi, i would love to join the challenge please. i am day 3 after a major relapse which has been creeping up for a while. i have gambled for 14 years. it began by sneaking off to play slots when i got bored with weekly visits to the bingo with my mam and sister. i progressed to the casinos where i won 6k in my first week and of course became quickly addicted. this followed with losses of what must be in excess of 50k throughout the years. i then found online sites and before long they began to take up my life and became my only interest. im now in about 2.5k of debt which is nothing in comparison and i am determined to stop for good and pay this off before it esculates into more. i am a mother of 3. my kids deserve more and i WILL DO THIS. thankyou x

Day 18 and going strong, got my girlfriend to set up this norton thing on my phone that blocks betting websites and sends her an email if i am trying to go on any, I know that is only a small part of the process but every little helps. I haven't really had any urges so far and I hope that they are not going to come back but it is good to read all of your stories and see how you guys are doing 🙂

Evening everyone. Checking in 36 days gamble free! No urges this week, although feeling very low today as money is disappearing from my purse, and we think it is my 12 year old daughter! It was only a small amount ВЈ2 but it's still gone. It was there last night when I went to bed(i was last to bed and had ВЈ9.20 in change in my purse) but not this morning when I went to get money for my son totake for mMarie Curie collection at school(only ВЈ6.20). My daughter had said she'd been in my purse to get ВЈ1 for non uniform day so there is £2 adrift somewhere. Any ideas on how to approach this as she is denying all knowledge of missing money (she has taken money once before)?

Sorry for the ramble.

Stay strong everyone and remember together we can do it

Checking in 13 days gamble free a roller coaster of a week but not attually through urges .... mjc1974 I recently went through this with my son never a large sum the odd pound I attually sat him down said I wouldn't be cross and that if the truth didn't come out I would have to go into school and there would be no treats for anyone he fessed up and touch wood there hasn't been a problem since his reason was his friends had money but if he'd ask he always got so he was reminded of this hope things get better
well done too all hitting milestones another gamble free day

Thank you tt1980. That was what it was about the first time. But they both know if I have the money and they need it they only need to ask.

Pleased you were able to sort it out with your son and hopefully I'll be able to sort it out as well.

Checking in 48 Days "clean". Like Clarance123 I'm happy too.

We should all feel proud as well.

I'll keep busy in order to avoid Cheltenham pitfalls.

Goodnight People.

Hi Everyone, checking in for another GF week. great update again Phil and well done to Baggins 1 year GF. I'm still in a positive place so tbh are coping much better than I ever imagined I would this year. Last year I constantly thought of online slots all the time, even in periods of GF it would be in my mind. This year is difference, I actually nearly forgot to check in for this week. This challenge is great support to everyone. Keep strong, one small step at a time will get us through each day GF and another GF month.

Mo

Good morning everyone!

I'm lying in bed with the tiny terrorist who's playing on her iPad - in between games we're chatting about DisneyWorld and how excited she is about it. It's the things that seem insignificant to other "normal" people that make recovery such a wonderful thing. Such a difference now from the days in the past where she would have been dumped in front of a tele as I trawled through the fixture lists contemplating where I would place ridiculous amounts of money. There were weekends that I had bet so much on football that I had to get a big coupon up just to break even - just doesn't make sense on reflection.

It's been great reading through the posts this week - 1 year, 9 month, weeks and days anniversaries that you have all posted about is such an inspiration.......Cheltenham and horses was never an attraction for me.......the danger comes with all the adverts for it and the thoughts of gambling it brings. The attraction is still there even after a year or so of abstinence. However, today will be filled with driving lessons (nephew), dancing (daughter) and C***a!!

Ok, so I'm going to get this posted and give my attention to the wee one.......who has just decided to start singing Christmas Carols and wants me to join in!! Deal!! So while Santa Claus is coming to town and Rudolph has a red nose.......I am Mr Brightside......checking in for the week and wishing peace and goodwill for everyone in the challenge!! Oh, and Happy New Year!! Ha ha!!

Be safe everyone.

Mr B
