Morning,

Checking in 102 days gambling free. It felt really good to pass the century this week. It was one of my original targets and seemed to come round a lot quicker than I imagined in the first few days of giving up. This challenge has been an invaluable support so far and I'm convinced I'll see out the year without making a single bet!

Have a great weekend all.

Good morning everyone!

I'm lying in bed with the tiny terrorist who's playing on her iPad - in between games we're chatting about DisneyWorld and how excited she is about it. It's the things that seem insignificant to other "normal" people that make recovery such a wonderful thing. Such a difference now from the days in the past where she would have been dumped in front of a tele as I trawled through the fixture lists contemplating where I would place ridiculous amounts of money. There were weekends that I had bet so much on football that I had to get a big coupon up just to break even - just doesn't make sense on reflection.

It's been great reading through the posts this week - 1 year, 9 month, weeks and days anniversaries that you have all posted about is such an inspiration.......Cheltenham and horses was never an attraction for me.......the danger comes with all the adverts for it and the thoughts of gambling it brings. The attraction is still there even after a year or so of abstinence. However, today will be filled with driving lessons (nephew), dancing (daughter) and Costa!!

Ok, so I'm going to get this posted and give my attention to the wee one.......who has just decided to start singing Christmas Carols and wants me to join in!! Deal!! So while Santa Claus is coming to town and Rudolph has a red nose.......I am Mr Brightside......checking in for the week and wishing peace and goodwill for everyone in the challenge!! Oh, and Happy New Year!! Ha ha!!

Be safe everyone.

Mr B

thanks mr b

the attraction is still think for me

yet it is easier when i try hard

keep it up!

Day 18 Still GF

Been tough couple of weeks. Negative factors outside of my control have affected my internal mood so I've experienced some strong urges. I made the choice not to gamble as I'm in control of my problem it doesn't control me. (Keep telling myself that!)

Work is being a complete negative, myself getting messed about and career affected because of work politics :-/ might have something to do with how I voice my opinion about the high number of idiots there too though.

Wellllllll I'm working to live now not living to work anymore so to hell with the place I won't get upset or take it to heart - not long and I can be self employed so TickFollowsTock and steady away.

Happily I see the positive in situations and happy for what I have got rather than the negative and I am glad for that.

Onwards and upwards all of us here! All best.

Tackling gambling debt steadily and surely and with patience.

Checking in on day 359. Only 6 more day till reach the year milestone but to be honest this coming week is the worst week of the whole year for me. I was 1 of them people that lived for Cheltenham week and the weeks leading up to it were spent researching horses form, ground etc. It was also this week that seen me slip last year after being 5 months gamble free

i intend to keep myself extremely busy next week and not watch as much tv etc will not be reading any newspapers so to allow me to be exposed to any coverage of the week. Best of luck next week to everyone who like me had problems with horse racing. I hope to be celebrating the year milestone with yous all next Friday

Hi everyone, checking in Day 66, another good week with no thoughts of gambling. Actually looking forward to Cheltenham, chance to enjoy it for what it is, rather than ending up hating it after I`ve done all my hard earned on.

Hello again

Unfortunately after checking in I found some free time. I suddenly thought that having understood how I lost my money 2 weeks ago I was able to play blackjack a bit better. I logged into an account and deposited £200. I did ok and made a bit but with the profit I got greedy and put it all on one hand and lost. Trying to make it back didnt happen as the cards didnt fall my way and soon that £200 was gone. Familiar story followed and I started chasing myself, deposting a bit more and just "hoping" that the cards would fall my way.

They didnt.

Another £1k has disappeared...

I feel oddly relieved because i was probably in a slight element of denial beforehand having lost my original money in one sitting. It just goes to show that no matter how good you think you are (i thought i was good), the casino's/bookies/bingo sites will always win.

K9 is well and truly on my computer and I revert back to day 1 tomorrow.

Sorry guys

I am committed to getting through this now!!

Checking In.

Reached Day 30.

Still feeling positive & good about myself! I admit that I've had some temptations but I've stayed strong & not buckled.

I hope everyone else has stayed on the path.
