Hi, i’m a 20 year old male, and i live with my parents at home. over the last month or so I went up around 2000 profit, but in a stretch of about an hour i lost all of it plus 4000 of my own balance. I couldn’t handle it on my own and ended up telling my parents, but after doing that, still every time my mind is on my own, it just makes me wonder why i didn’t stop and cash out my profit when i knew myself that this would end up happening. I can’t get over it and it’s stressing me out and making me depressed. Any ideas to help get it off my mind?

Hi,
Sorry to hear you are going through this.
I think every person who is in a gambling spiral understands and has done exactly what you have done.Â
Well done for reaching out on here. They call gambling the invisible addiction and it's so true.Â
Like most addictions out there, it could be that you are escaping from something.Â
I would advise you speak to a counsellor / therapist to help get to the catalyst.Â
Have you signed up to Gamstop? I urge you to do this so it protects you for when you get an urge.Â

All the best
The best way to get over gambling losses is to take a break and accept that losing is part of the game. Don’t chase it back, that only digs a deeper hole. Clear your head, learn from what happened, and focus on something else for a while. Everyone takes hits sometimes; what matters is how you bounce back.
