Went out yesturday to some pubs with friends..... Drunk a lot of caffeine and as a result couldn't sleep till four thirty am and had voices.....

Was just me and my folks today..... Woke up one pm.... Had lunch then watched some TV.....

Bought a new shirt and jacket in the sales today both made from recycled material so better for environment so that's good.

In recent weeks I've been looking forward to social occasions coming up..... Now I have nothing planned..... Will save a bit of money by not venturing out on new years..

Back to work wednesday looking forward to seeing colleagues again and get stuck in again..... Been a lovely long break....

Then looking forward to a chilled night in on new years.... To watch tv...... And look back on this year and make plans for the new year.

My sister came over yesturday and it was lovely..... They loved their presents.....Then today I sorted a few things out..... Got my council tax sorted...  Then sorted out my new Chromebook..... Couldn't get my excell spreadsheet working on Google sheets so instead of spending a lot of time sorting it I thought I'd opt to start a fresh one for my living at flat..... Just got wages on it as income totalled then minus all bills, money spent on flat, maintenance, all spending etc then comes up with net for each month to come off what I owe folks.  I now only owe them 43500...... Which is a lot but started off at 70500 so paid a chunk off..... So realistically over next year I'll just try to live independently and balance over the year and not try to pay them back anything.....

Then the next year I'll look to rent out spare room and work more hours so I can pay back the money......

Once that's paid I intend to save up say five grand then take a sebatical from work at fifty years old...maybe six months off to a year off..... To enjoy myself and relax .....

Then I'll start saving for retirement ..

Lots of plans ....but it's good to aspire high.... Look to hit the stars and if u get half way ur high anyway I think I've heard somewhere lol

Hi Fella,

Was just thinking about you as 2021 comes to a close. It's been some year for you, great things achieved. 2 years GF, your independence back & moving in to your flat. Pay rise, & people having enough confidence in you to train a new porter & show him the ropes. I don't even suspect you're dumb enough to do it, but remember these achievements are too great , too hard earned to stake on a game of poker. Forget what you've lost because what you've achieved is a treasure trove of riches Adam.

All The Best

AL

Just reading back my diary for inspiration and this post from Al really struck a chord........ Gambling really whatever the prize is not worth risking all that I've achieved over the past two years!!!!! I'm looking to build on these two years now, I'm decorating flat and will slowly build on my independence::::::

1) no vices full stop forever!!!!!!!! This is a huge commitment and when stresses thru life Materialiser I'm sure my mind will go to a place where they will be tempting to release stress etc but making the right decision is mostly now easy I just have to strive to make the right decision in the difficult times.

2) succeed at work and help as much as I can...... Thru putting in the graft, being available to work whenever they need me, to cover holidays and sickness, step up when manager off, train new staff, to put myself in a position where I'm valuable to the company and not at risk of redundancy etc.  Thus having money to pay bills.

3) 2022 goal, learn to live independently again.  With all that entails.  From getting flat livable, buying furniture, moving in and successfully looking after myself indepently......

4) Health ......  From aiming to be 12 stone 6 to walking regularly after work to maybe joining gym again to socialize and rest and revigorate....... All in order to build my health.....  No vices obvs really helps this goal too.

5) be good to environment...... Thru recycling at work and at home.....using public transport, purchasing recycled clothing or secondhand..... Carbon neutral.....

6) socialise at least once a month.....

These are my objectives for 2022....... I'll update on new years eve how I done on my 2021 objectives.....haven't looked yet but I feel positive about this

I've decided I'm going to spend new years round a mates house...... Seems like a good idea to spend it with some friends, they're not going to bars just staying in which is good for me I don't like bars that much anymore......

So I thought I'd take a look back at my 2021 objectives today to see how I've done......

First and forefmost was to stay away from vices and I managed that.

Second was to lose weight and gain physical fitness through diet and physio work for shoulder.  I'm glad to say my shoulder is good but I've hit a stumbling block with my weight..... It's a objective I'll take forward to next year.

Third was to visit the health suite in the summer ...... Didn't manage this as restrictions didn't ease at gym.. .again something I'm looking to do this summer.

Fourth was to cycle to work to be better on the environment......unfortunately my brother in law fell of his bike this year and fractured his collar bone which really put me off the idea of cycling... .. however I did manage to not buy any new clothes apart from secondhand ones and ones made from recycled material along with doing the best recycling I could at work and home.

Restrictions eased and with that I ventured out with friends more especially when off over Christmas..... Really enjoyed this.....

So all in all I done everything objective wise that I set out to when permitted and just got to work on the weight over next year too.

I'll hopefully be able to make chat on new years....  See in the new year in style..... I'm hoping to enjoy the evening out for a change....

Went out to friends for new years was great.  Watched fireworks. Danced. Slept well no voices.  Not too much coffee. Good steps.

Been listening to a podcast tonight..... Made me think more about my objectives for this year.....  They said like me a lot of people make lists on new years of objectives and strive to meet them thru the year ..... Now they said they did it too but in recent years their objective has simply been to slow down and meditate...

Now I've been thinking recently about living in the moment. Staying in the present and enjoying each day whether it be at work or at home......

I'm not striving towards capitalist consumer things anymore.... I'm trying to be better to the environment by only buying recycled material clothes or second hand ones, trying to recycle at work and at home... Eating better.... Controlling my vices.....  And to be honest I'm thinking too much about achieving these objectives like they were saying ....,...

So I'm going to live thru this new lifestyle thru this year but try and live and enjoy each day more......slow down .....and appreciate what I have got and not what I'm being told I want.....

I'm rambling a bit......

Also I've been off social media a while apart from Whatsapp  that's good who wants to try and be best friends with 3000 people and try to live the perfect looking life Id rather have meaningful relationships with a close number of friends and family....

Soo a nice lay in, healthy soup for lunch, cup of tea, and going to go to flat for some work on the flooring, then I'll have a walk to keep up the fitness...... A great time to live in the moment ...   Was having second thoughts about moving in last night but that's to be expected ...

Hello neglected diary...... Another week has gone by with no vices consumed.  Was going to stay in this month and save my money after an expensive december but ive now planned to go for a coffee tomo morning with a friend.....

a lot of people feel down thru the winter months and its to be expected as sad really affects people.  I however am feeling pretty good about life at the mo but will not take it for granted.....

I am trying to live in the moment lately enjoying each moment in life as if i dont life will fly by......

Im not rushing the work on my flat as i want to get it right plus im in no rush to move out....

Ive sorted all the bills now and if im sensible i should still be able to pay back some money i owe my folks each month....

the person i trained for one day at start of december is a qualified electrician and because of that i told him about a position to become the building services manager for the hospital (my bosses boss) which needed to be fairly building orientated like elctrical knowledge etc..... he applied and got the position over my boss....  now i didnt think at the time that it would stop me progressing into a porter lead positon but as my manager (the porter lead) hasnt got this job he wont move up and allow me the opportunity to move up.  My dad said its a lot of what ifs and my ex bosses boss said that there wouldnt be a porter lead position available for me when i asked.  I do like this new boss so that's good.

So ill just get my head down.... im soo impulsive one week i want one thing and the next i want another....grass is allways greener.

Hi Diary,

I managed to get rewarded with 9.50p per hour a couple of months back which was great and made me feel more valued.  Now in april this ear however the minimum living wage will go up to 9.50 pence an hour making me on minimum wage again.  Now as someone who is working really hard and only able to work 25 hours a week this is tough to see.

With the increase in minimum wages they are saying that the cost of living is more expensive now and will go up, and this is for people working full time, i am not, i am also living in one of the most expensive areas in the country to live in.  To get a round of drinks for a couple of mates costs me half a days wage, to get a meal out a days wage etc its tough here.

So although i managed to get a step up the ladder of money im now going to be back to square one.

So ive just sent an email to my manager and the director of the hospital to try and get a 50p an hour raise in April and try to get 5 hours extra work each week (30 hours a week).  I've put forward some good arguments about the cost of living and the fact i have earned less money each year at the hospital and the fact i now dont do vices to cut costs and am good with my money.

I'm hoping it works as it will give me a huge lift in my living conditions and will enable me to do more and hopefully be able to afford things like a meal out every month, gym membership, and even maybe a weekend staykation somewhere if i was inclined.

Spent a few hours at the flat today..... managed to get all the gripper rods off floor in lounge ready for cleaning the flooring to see whether i can keep it or need new laminate.

Flat is coming along nicely..... looking to start to move stuff in by february i hope..... i'd like to have some time there by march im hoping.

Recovery wise everytihng is smooth... ive not thought about having a bet for a while now..... if i do i know ill make the right decision...  All brought on by my sobriety and time away from all vices.

think im ranting now so ill go to chat....

Just back home from going to the pub with a couple of friends..... was great to catch up...... makes me appreciate life a bit more.

Now i'm getting to the point with my mental health where it maybe coincidence but ive not heard any voices for a month and a half.....  When im laying in bed at night i usually think of someone and then they will talk to me however last night i thought of people and thankfully no voices whatsoever.....  This is AMAZING !!!!  I cant tell you how good that is.  So im really hoping that ive turned a corner with my mental health and it will continue on that path forever.

Got rid of the old carpets in my flat yesturday..... step in the right direction......  just got skirting boards to do now then it will be getting the new carpets in and then start to move in i guess......

New manager starts on monday then a new porter soon as well.....  im looking forward to welcoming them and getting stuck in at work.

im really thankful for everything at the mo i really am lucky....
