This time last year I was gambling. Gambling on poker, horses and football.

Today I am 326 days away from my last bet. I've been to GA recently and have been trying to work the programme. I'm up to step 6 now and whilst my life is still really difficult, it's much better than it was when I was gamblling.

Stuff i've learned over the past 326 days.

1) Life ain't easy

2) stopping gambling is good but for recovery you need to change

3) Self analysis is difficult but worth it

4) I'm better now but still have miles to go

5) The next bet is potentially only moments away

6) Stopping gambling can be as easy or as difficult as you make it

7) Working the 12 steps is doing me well

Hope this helps.

Hello all I haven't been on in a while as things have changed dramatically. My relationship has ended as I don't think my ex could get past my problem which I completely understand. I am still in a good place and my only concern is seeing my little girl. I have also been to two counselling sessions with break even. I do feel this is helping as I can discuss things I might not in the real world. During the sessions the therapist has told me I do not have a gambling problem which I find strange and conflicting to what other people have been telling me. I am still not gambling and approaching a month. I do feel happy for not doing it but can't help feeling a small bet would not hurt. I will not follow these thoughts and move past today

Congratulations on 326 days!

It sounds like with each passing day, you’re learning more and more about your addiction and how to deal with it.
