Hey there you may remember me from a crazy summer I had.

I was GF for about 2 years, slipped and fell back in. Now had been GF since June but slipped back about a week ago, little bits here and there. Stopped quickly and got the Qustudio and Self exclusion on the go and didn't lose too much.

Its a d**n S****y "hobby" chasing loses (albeit admittedly small ones) and I can't be doing with it any more.

So I'm back. For the second time complacency has got me. I thought I had beaten the bug. I thought I was OK to have a flutter now and again and be gone of the compulsion of depositing/winning/losing/depositing/losing/depositing/losing. Its funny because I tell other people gambling is for mugs! But I'm still a mug.

Onwards and upwards. Agh!

Help and advice from people who have also slipped would be si much appreciated right now :/

There is hope, right?

There is hope, but it's not some sort of passive force as you're implying.

You're master of your own destiny and responsible for your own choices. Make changes, or don't make changes. Leave loopholes or close them. Break your triangle and go to meetings/counselling, or don't. Your call.

Hi Paul,

I have to agree with CW.

You might want to consider counselling. I'm undergoing it myself. Help is just a phone call away.

You did well, but know (we all know) the score. It's day to day, every day, forever.

This is deadly serious. Choose life or misery.

As CW says: Your Call.

I would add: Make it count this time and take practical steps (breaking the time/money/cycle, counselling, meetings, as CW suggests) and make this permanent.

A slip is not the end it's a new beginning.... but yes like others said we need to make it stick. I was 7 years GF then 1 bet brought on 5 more years of misery. Putting the pieces back together again now.
As I have read here and in books as well, we are not alone in this...many of us in this battle slip sometimes but important thing is you didn't let it last long and minimized the damage. Keep GF from today on...you can do it.
