As humans and especially gamblers we are driven by wants I suppose. But on this occasion murlo the want was in for a big disappointment. Well doneyou kicked it into the long grass.. Proud of you.

Thank you boo x

Dear Diary. Day 37 Gamble free.

As much as I want to put yesterday’s experience behind me, I need to reflect on it a little bit to learn from it I guess. I have counselling Thursday so will get a good chance to explore what went on in my head. I have a bit of an idea to be honest. I know I just need to stop doing things that make me likely to want to gamble so that’s where I will be putting my efforts from now on.

I had an early start today and a bit kn*******red now to be honest. Lots to deal with at work but that’s what makes it interesting. No two days the same. I was dispatched to a meeting to be a voice of reason and I think I was. Need to start reasoning with myself more maybe.

My hubby will be home late tonight. I will spoil him, missed him so much. I will tell him about my trip to the bookies but think it needs to wait until tomorrow. I want to be able to tell him that I have acted on every bit of advice I got from Netline and I have one more thing to do today.

My remaining moggy slept with me all last night, that was lovely. We need each other’s comfort at the mo. She is a bit of a daddy’s girl so she will be so pleased to see my hubby too.

Not much else to say about today really. It has gone ok so far, kept out of mischief.  Working from home tomorrow so no need to get up at the crack of dawn. Lovely..

Firstly am so pleased to be seeing everyone get through this season to be jolly month. Ups n downs maybe at times but united with one cause.

As myself and murlo are newish kids on the blocks I seem to write here more. But my affection and gratitude believe me is spread universally over this forum.

Murlo this last week has Been your most testing to date. Hubby away and with all other emotions you have had hurled at you.. But you set out your battle plan and have proved yourself victorious in my eyes.

Gambling is the war. We are it's casualties. We have all  come here battle weary and worn.. But with the support of each other are fighting our way through it.

Chat 8pm.. Pub quiz.. 9pm at the local. Think there's every chance of a cheeky vino ?

Boo x

I am truly grateful for your support and wise counsel Boo. I will look back on this last week as a success in time.

Thank you for being here for me. Vino for me too, stops any chance of a drive to the bookies ?

Hubby will not be making it home tonight. Strikes in France. To be honest I have been worried that he wouldn’t want to come home at all so the fact that he is part way means a lot. More time to spoil him tomorrow I hope.

I am sorry to hear Hubby is stuck. It's a shame but hopefully, it does give you the time to make it a warm home-coming. I know you are looking forward to that bit.

Love you pal. Thank you for your unflinching support in all the good and bad times.

My better half has found a different flight home. Now I am excited! Think he has had too much hospitality in the airport, got to watch his footy team on the net and was singing marching on together at me on the phone. He really can't sing. Great to hear him so happy ?

Reminds me of my courtship days with Mr. B. R. Twice we wanted to go to France.  Twice there were strikes. Airport or ferry cannot be sure.. Back in the day now.

Didn't do to bad in quiz. It was lovely to be out with friends being happy and carefree

Night and bless boo x

Good morning diary.

So glad you had a good time at the quiz Boo x

Hubby is actually home ?.  He is flat out asleep and I so want to wake him up. He's been travelling for the best part of 36 hours so I will just watch him sleep instead....

My hubby is awake so I am starting a day of spoiling him with his favourite breakfast. I thought he had been drinking in the airport last night because he sounded so, so happy. He says not, he was just excited to be seeing me. That made me cry. He gave me a little gift this morning. It is a locket with a German lullaby on. The lullaby has real significance for me and I can’t believe he even knows that. It is one of the most beautiful gifts I have ever received. That made me cry more. If ever I needed a reminder of why I should never gamble again, he is right here.

Right now, I am a very happy lady x

Dear Diary. Day 38 gamble free and one to treasure.

Welcome back hubby and welcome back me. It’s been a long time since I have felt this good. I actually like myself today.

Went for champagne afternoon tea with hubby today. It felt like a proper date, not done that in ages. We both got dressed up. I think I scrubbed up well. Not repeating what he said but I think my hubby appreciated how I looked ?. I wore a dress that is his fave, deep red raw silk little number. I cannot remember the last time I had my legs on show, too bothered about the scrawny injured leg. I took some heels with me just for show really. Leg not yet good enough to walk in them but it was nice to have them on my feet

My hubby looked absolutely gorgeous. Suited and booted. I am sad that I have not noticed just how gorgeous he is for the last few years because my head was elsewhere. I will pay him lots of attention from now on.

We are back home relaxing. I say relaxing, hubby is having a power nap with the moggy curled up by his side. I am just enjoying looking at them.

Just in case you didn’t pick this up diary, I am very happy ?
