Hi Elizabeth... yes the fantasy world and the escape into it seems to be a common theme for many of us. I find that if am ever tempted with a lotto ticket or scratch card and the elusive "big win".. I go and buy a couple of juicy apples instead.. healthy and wholesome. Glad to see that you have bounced back strongly. Take care and keep safe.. S.A 🙂

Thanks Rach and Ade,

Ade things are getting betterer this week.

Although eldest school has just put a spanner in the works inclement weather procedures have been put in place,Start at 9.45 finish at 2.35 which is ok for tomorrow as i have a day off but i have to be in work the rest of the week on time.

Some times i wonder if his school actually take into account us parents still have to work and those of us on our own struggle with this it would just be easier to open or shut. They have a great computer system at his school and could just email work through, they were all given ipads so use them.

Sorry rant over.

Well snow angels have been made, massive snowball fight was had,big snowman was made and we all froze :0)Did i mention i dont like snow.

Feeling quite high this evening(maybe all the sugar)ready for a new week ahead bring it on.

Finished reading ands diary today my god that man fought everything thrown at him and has come out the other side.A real inspirational read if anyone needs some inspiring.

Stay Strong

Hi E,

No reason your diary can't read just like ands does ; ) (I agree he is an absolute legend)

Lovely to hear you sounding more positive. I agree about the schools, they do what they like round here too...causes chaos for people, especially if you have one in primary and one in secondary and they are both doing different hours. If only these head teachers could get a certificate in common sense eh!

Take care,

f x

Thankyou Freda,

The school annoys me coz LO is in nursery and if i change his hours i get charged and am in no position for extra charges.Anyway i have decided if they carry on with the time changes then eldest will have to stay at home and they can email the work to him.Teachers are online until about 5 so he wont miss anything.

Feeling ok today another tight week financially but should eek through it.

Gambling urges or rather chasing urges are diminishing and feeling like im getting back on top of things again.

i think i've mentioned it before i hate snow, had to dig my car off the driveway this morning as the wheels kept spinning and the only shovel i had was LOs beach spade must have given the neighbours a laugh.lol

Thanks for that exmug i'm sure you had a right chuckle:0)

Well like a few people on here not feeling well not surprised kids have been coughing and sneezing on me for the last god knows how long.At least school hrs are back to normal.

Just a small thought about my gambling and why i keep pressing the self destruct button, self esteem is my big issue.Grew up with an absent dad who even now makes me feel completely unwanted i know he loves me but has a funny way of showing it.My ex even now makes me feel worthless not sure he even knows hes doing it.So if the main men in my life make me feel like that well as they say if you get told something often enough you start to believe it.

I know i'm not worthless and i am starting to believe i'm better than that.

My eldest is constantly telling me i'm the best, which then kicks in the guilt but am also dealing with that.

Looking to the future

Hi E...just doin a drive by as late back ....I agree with your eldest too..and chuckling about you digging out your wheels with that spade....lol...I use a cd case now soggy paper to sort out my car windows as have a mental block about investing in a 99p scraper!

Made a lot of sense with what you said about the men in your life..the negative image and the self esteem...

I always think its like school..why is it that the teachers that tell us we are great and good we don't believe and shrug it off yet the teachers who we feel are off with us or we are disappointing we want to work harder to please?....I think witholding emotion is so cruel.. destroys our soul...

Why don't we believe the voices of the ones who can see the truth...like your children ?

Stay strong hun your doing fab xxxx...it's unconditional ((((TW)))))xxx

Hi Elizabeth

When I started my recovery from alcohol I had the most horendous experience anyone could ever go through. I knew then that it was either make or break from the demons. In a strange way I believe it was my higher power seeing if I could handle life or go and hide in the comfort of alcohol. I stood up and was counted. To this day I still think back as that in my life being the turning point in my life. These things are sent to see if we can handle life on life's terms. Again you will find a way round it without gambling. Take a deep breath and move forward whatever way you can. Everyone on here is with you on our unique journeys.

Take care

Thankyou smiler.

Well as you can see from last post the clutch or at worst the gear box has gone on my car, really leaves me in the s**t.

My mum is down for a few days so i can use her car for work after that i'm not sure whats going to happen may find myself jobless by the end of the week.As if i have no car i cant get to work :0)

I certaintly dont have the money to buy another car or fix it really just hope the ex who is a mechanic will fix it for me,but the way he went on im not holding out to much hope.

Another problem for me to solve thanks HP.
